We are seeking a highly motivated and safety-conscious Operations Technician to join our operations team in Cleveland, OH. Our Cleveland site includes 3 Air Separation Units, a Liquefier, an Argon Purification Plant, and multiple pipeline delivery systems.

The plant operator will be responsible for the day-to-day safe operation of the facility's operating equipment and production processes in compliance with all EH&S standards. While achieving a zero (0) lost time injury record, perform work duties in accordance with company quality systems, safety policies and site-specific procedures. You will also be responsible for monitoring daily production processes to ensure reliability, efficiency and productivity goals are met.

This is a safety sensitive role.

Required Skills / Abilities:

  • A strong mechanical aptitude
  • A strong commitment to safety, working as a team, and operational excellence.
  • A self-starter with a strong work ethic.
  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts.
  • Ability to read and interpret piping schematics/ diagrams.
  • Utilizing written procedures for starting and stopping equipment.
  • Isolating systems for maintenance using work permits and lock out tag out process.
  • Operating manual and pneumatic valves.
  • Operating systems from remote location via Distributed Control System.

Key Job Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and adjust plant process conditions by adjusting valves, pumps, machinery, and electrical equipment.
  • Maintain an electronic logbook of daily operational activities.
  • Troubleshoot plant process conditions using various in-plant indications of plant performance and data displayed on a modern DCS/HMI computer system.
  • Issue safety work permits and perform lock-out / tag-out procedures as necessary for maintenance activities.
  • Oversee trailer loading operations.
  • Inspect all work areas on a routine basis to identify any mechanical problems, safety hazards, or unusual operating conditions.
  • Ensure that all plant safety procedures are followed.
  • Attend and contribute to monthly safety meetings.
  • Perform troubleshooting on equipment and make minor adjustments and/or submit work requests to maintenance as required.
  • Assist in reviewing and updating operating procedures as required.

Minimum Hiring Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalency
  • 2 years plant process experience and/or Process Technology degree/certification
  • Previous work history and/or military experience
  • Strong commitment to safety
  • Experience with personal computers and/or DCS systems
  • Desire and ability to work in a team environment

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to climb ladders and steps and lift at least 50 lbs.
  • Be able to meet call-in requirements as needed
  • Elevated work required.
  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions.

Work Hours:

  • Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts, including nights and weekends, and participate in an on-call rotation when needed
