POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):
This position will provide direct support to property management, WBS 1.1, freight traffic, WBS 1.3, move operations and special events, WBS 1.5, and space management, WBS 1.6.
- Provide comprehensive support to Logistics operations, including property management, freight traffic, move operations, special events, and space management functions.
- Provide center equipment inventory data for over 16,500 items; generate weekly reports for management and area supervisors.
- Develop and maintain inventory metrics to track schedule adherence and loss rates.
- Manage the Disposal Tracking System, reporting missing equipment, waste management issues, and schedule delays.
- Collaborate directly with the waste management team to resolve hazardous material remediation issues.
- Serve as the primary backup for move operations and special events, ensuring full operational coverage during surge periods and new project initiations.
- Participate in planning meetings with management and Move Operations staff to coordinate the movement of personnel, office layouts, and furniture.
- Conduct site assessments to confirm that project requests align with facility specifications.
- Attend project management meetings with GRC architects, project managers, and engineering teams to identify and integrate Center requirements into design plans.
- Perform field verification to support the development of design requirements for projects.
- Provide interior design recommendations to optimize workspaces and enhance alignment with customer and organizational needs.
- Utilize AutoCAD software to develop detailed room layouts, including workstation and modular office furniture designs.
- Prepare comprehensive design packages that include a bill of materials, electrical and communication plans, and all applicable utility requirements.
- Coordinate with project electricians to define electrical requirements and recommend appropriate locations for power inputs.
- Monitor project schedules and budgets to ensure compliance with established plans and constraints.
- Coordinate with internal and external movers, installers, and other stakeholders to ensure successful execution of moves and installations.
- Identify and report potential project risks or obstacles that could affect scope, timeline, or deliverables.
- Plan and manage the physical setup and teardown for a variety of special events across the Center (i.e. conferences, meetings, etc.).
- Provide design services to customers and management at all levels to support interior space planning and configuration.
- Oversee the installation of new furniture and the removal of surplus or obsolete items.
- Implement detailed furniture standards and guidelines to optimize office space utilization and support the Center's overall furniture program objectives.
- Ensure that unused furniture is returned to the warehouse for redistribution and assess furniture for reutilization, disposal, or scrapping as appropriate.
- Serve as a secondary backup to the freight traffic function, including vendor coordination to meet delivery schedules and secure cost-effective carrier solutions.
- Serve as a backup for space management operations, supporting facility utilization during surges to ensure optimal occupancy of laboratories, offices, and shops.
- Provide additional logistics-related support as assigned.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Five years of logistics experience.
