POSITION OVERVIEW AND PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES (ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS):

This position will provide direct support to transportation garage services and fuels purchasing/coordination, WBS 1.4.



  • Provide logistical support for garage operations and coordinate fuels purchasing and related functions.
  • Maintain and update the MAXIMO system to ensure all garage activities and operational requirements are accurately recorded.
  • Assist with the procurement of parts, including ordering, expediting, and retrieval.
  • Perform comprehensive market research to identify cost-effective options for parts and external repair services.
  • Coordinate with customers to schedule planned maintenance and ensure timely completion in alignment with established schedules.
  • Verify timely receipt of required parts prior to the commencement of scheduled maintenance activities.
  • Inspect parts for accuracy and completeness before issuance to mechanics for installation.
  • Review and validate vendor invoices for accuracy prior to submission for payment processing.
  • Document labor hours, part costs, and scheduled activities within the system.
  • Create and maintain asset profiles to ensure compliance with NASA Headquarters requirements.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance schedules; monitor asset status to ensure adherence to maintenance timelines.
  • Generate and manage job plans and associated tasks in the system as necessary.
  • Serve as a backup to the primary fuels purchasing coordinator.
  • Analyze daily fuel reading to identify and report any potential safety concerns.
  • Use fuel readings to initiate vendor requests for fuel replenishment.
  • Collaborate with research personnel to ensure timelines are achieved.
  • Liaise with Agency-approved product vendors to secure necessary approvals for center access.
  • Communicate new product needs to management for consideration and approval.
  • Monitor fuel inventory for garage fuels and alert management when fuel replenishment is required.
  • Input operational metrics related to garage activities into the system for tracking and reporting.
  • Generate division-level reports covering mileage, fuel consumption, and motor pool usage.
  • Provide general support to additional Logistics functions as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:

Education: High school diploma or equivalent. Experience: Five years of logistics experience.
