A Day in the Life:

Primary responsibilities of the Elevator Operator III are the operation of the grain elevator as it pertains to loading, unloading, and transferring grain and grain products in an efficient, safe, and sanitary manner. They will also assist or lead in all other aspects of grain handling, storage, maintaining facilities and equipment, and elevator operations.

Position Details:

Schedule is Mon - Fri, 7:00am - 4:00pm

$17.00 - $20.00 an hour

What You'll Be Doing:

  • Assist in all areas of the loading, unloading, and transferring of grain and grain products for truck, barge, and rail (location specific)
  • Perform grain receiving, weighing, and grading duties and help with unloading/loading trucks, barges and rail
  • Inspect barges, trucks, and railcars before loading
  • Operate and monitor more advanced grain handling equipment (grain dryer, grain control room, bin sweeps, and locomotives) on a routine basis
  • Fix more complex maintenance issues (fabrication, repairs, etc.)
  • Perform housekeeping and cleaning duties
  • Know and understand all facets of Bunge's safety programs and culture, and have a strong working knowledge of safety procedures and environmental regulations
  • Demonstrate safe working practices with the ability to notify operations of safety alarms
  • Properly and accurately record all applicable documentation

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Basic written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrated ability to work in a safety conscious environment
  • Ability to work in a highly quality controlled environment.
  • Skilled in maintenance, equipment operations, safety programs, and grain operations
  • Ability to lead others and maintain a good working relationship with other facility personnel

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • Agricultural experience
  • Welding and light fabrication experience
