POSITION SUMMARY
The Center for Occupational and Employee Medicine (COEM) is seeking a dedicated and experienced Occupational Medicine Physician to join our team. Under general direction, this role provides expert medical evaluation and treatment for patients with work-related injuries and illnesses. The physician will also conduct pre-employment, annual, surveillance, and return-to-work examinations for individuals exposed to workplace risks, injuries, or diseases.This position plays a key role in ensuring compliance with Workers' Compensation and OSHA standards, while also contributing to the supervision and development of clinical staff. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Evaluate and treat patients referred for work-related injuries and illnesses.
- Conduct occupational health exams, including pre-employment, surveillance, and return-to-work assessments.
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation to meet Workers' Compensation and OSHA requirements.
- Provide clinical supervision to APP's within COEM to assure compliance of all applicable regulations.
- Consult with other clinical staff, residents, and NP students on medical issues.
- Engage with clients and stakeholders through regular communication, marketing, and site visits.
- Participate in business development activities to support COEM's growth.
- Prescribe, administer and dispense medications in accordance with state and federal statute.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- Valid and current California M.D. or D.O. license.
- Valid and current DEA license.
- NRCME certification to perform DOT exams, or willingness to become certified within six months of hire.
- Board certification or board eligibility in Occupational Medicine.
- BART or BLS certification at time of hire, with a commitment to obtain BART within six (6) months.
SPECIAL CONDITIONS
- Must be flexible in supervising APPs at various locations.
- Previous experience in occupational medicine preferred.
- Employment is contingent upon a criminal background check and pre-employment physical.
