This is a 1st Shift role, the work schedule is: Monday-Friday, 6am-3:30pm Mountain Time


SUMMARY


The Warehouse Associate is a key team member for Operations, supporting both shipping and receiving goals as well as maintaining a well-organized inventory of supplies for production. This position also works closely with Customer Service to ensure timely and accurate order delivery. Emphasis for the Shipping position is on preparing product for shipment, scheduling pick-ups with carriers, generating appropriate shipping paperwork, obtaining shipping rate quotes, using equipment to move products to appropriate warehouse locations, and loading product onto trucks for delivery.


PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Obtains shipping rate quotes as requested by Customer Service
  • Prepares shipping paperwork for orders ready for delivery, including labels, packing slips, Bills of Lading, Shipper's Letters of Instruction, and other documents.
  • Pays attention to detail in special shipping instructions to ensure accurate, timely order delivery without incurring additional charges or unnecessary delays.
  • Calculates product dimensions and weights to provide accurate shipping paperwork.
  • Affixes labels and paperwork to all outgoing orders with diligent attention to accuracy.
  • Provides tracking information for orders to Customer Service.
  • Keeps the warehouse area clean and organized while tracking key inventory levels.
  • Receives incoming materials and inspects packaging for any damage.
  • Monitors scheduled shipments to assure timely pick-up and notifies Customer Service of any unforeseen delays.
  • Loads and unloads pallets by operating the liftgate, pallet jack, and/or forklift in a safe and responsible manner.
  • Supports and fills-in for general Warehouse Associate as needed.
  • Follows company policies and practices as outlined in the Employee Handbook, AWAIR and/or applicable employment agreement. Follows safety guidelines and procedures in accordance with the job.
  • Performs additional duties as assigned.



JOB REQUIREMENTS



  • Education: High School diploma or GED
  • Basic proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Word and use of the internet.
  • Basic ability to use websites and applications to schedule shipments and generate rate quotes.
  • Good organizational skills and ability to manage paperwork with strong attention to detail.
  • Mechanically inclined and capable of operating a pallet jack.
  • Previous shipping and/or warehousing experience and familiarity with shipping terms and procedures.
  • Dedication to high quality and safety standards and enthusiasm for continuous improvement.
  • Demonstrates a strong work ethic by arriving at work prior to the start of shift, earnestly maintaining a high level of productivity, executing tasks with care, and taking pride in a job well done.
  • Be willing to work in a very dynamic cultural environment and be a team player.
  • Be able to follow written and verbal directions/instructions.

  • Must be flexible regarding working hours and overtime. Must be able to work overtime on evenings and weekends, with or without advanced notice.
  • Must be able to operate in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously.



PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS AND WORKING CONDITIONS



  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be constantly required to execute standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. stand, walk, sit, use hands/fingers).
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee will be occasionally required to execute non-standard physical activities within the facility areas (i.e. climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch).
  • Ability to lift and/or move up to 35 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • This position requires repetitive hand/wrist activities.
