In this key role, you will serve as a Pediatric Clinical Pharmacist supporting both the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) and Pediatric services. You will prepare and dispense pharmaceuticals in the inpatient pharmacy while also serving as an integral member of daily patient care rounds. By collaborating with physicians, nurses, and allied health professionals, you will help ensure the safe and effective use of medications in some of our most vulnerable patients.

Following departmental policies and procedures, you will deliver a full range of clinical services, including pharmacokinetic dosing, therapeutic interchange, IV/PO conversions, TPN per pharmacy, and pharmacist interventions. Your expertise in pediatric and neonatal pharmacotherapy will optimize drug therapy, prevent medication-related issues, and support the development of evidence-based practice guidelines.

This role also offers opportunities to shape the future of pharmacy practice through teaching and mentorship, precepting Doctor of Pharmacy students and PGY1 residents with bedside training in pediatric and neonatal pharmacotherapy.

Schedule: varied shifts, depending on department needs, including weekends and holidays.

Hourly Salary Range: $85.87 - $100.58 (Union represented, step-based salary depending on years of experience)

Bargaining Unit: HX-UPTE

Qualifications
We're seeking a dedicated clinical professional with:
  • Pharm D. degree and current CA Pharmacy license (required)
  • PGY1 ASHP-accredited residency
  • PGY2 ASHP Pediatrics residency (preferred)
  • 2 years inpatient pharmacy experience
  • Exceptional communication, interpersonal, organizational and follow-through skills.
  • Knowledge of and ability to perform age specific and disease specific pharmacokinetic calculations..
  • Board certification in applicable area of pharmacy practice (preferred)
