The Iron Horse Hotel is now managed by Crescent Hotels & Resorts; a leading hotel & resort management company with over 20 years in the industry. We are looking for a dedicated, experienced and knowledgeable Server Assistant to join our team.

Ash Hearth & Bar:



  • Features a simple, seasonal, American menu highlighted by the use of fire and smoke
  • Hearth cooking allows for the full use of fire
  • From slow cooking in embers to smoking and charring over an open flame, hearth cooking accentuates an enhanced flavor in all our meats and vegetables

Job description

Server Assistant responsibilities include setting tables, serving food orders and removing used dishes and utensils. If you'd like to gain experience in the restaurant industry and learn how to provide an excellent dining experience, we'd like to meet you. To be considered for this role, you should be available to work various shifts, including weekends.

Ultimately, you will ensure our guests have a high-quality dining experience by serving their food in a timely and accurate manner.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:



  • Clean off all plate and glassware from tables that have left.
  • Re-set the table in the restaurants style, make sure the table is set properly and clean.
  • Make sure the chairs and floor area around the table is clean, bring all dishware to the dish area for cleaning.
  • Re-stocking service stands.
  • Deliver food orders from the kitchen to customers' tables rapidly and accurately
  • Act as the contact point between Front of the House and Back of the House staff
  • Communicate food orders to chefs, paying attention to priorities and special requests (e.g. food allergies)
  • Making sure the beverage station was full (coffee, tea etc.)
  • Emptying trash, bring clean glassware to the bar area, getting ice, bring the linen, and fold napkins.
  • Answer guests' questions about ingredients and menu items
  • Inform restaurant staff about customers' feedback or requests (e.g. when they ask for the check)


REQUIRED SKILLS AND ABILITIES:

Basic reading, writing, and math skills. Must meet state legal age requirements. Must speak fluent English.
