The Logistics and Sustainment Specialist will support the development of an organic sustainment capability for the AN/SPY-1 radar system under the Navyis OTA prototyping effort. This role is critical to establishing lifecycle logistics processes, provisioning strategies, and sustainment infrastructure that ensure radar fleet readiness through 2065. The Specialist will work closely with engineering, test, and program management teams to align logistics deliverables with prototyping objectives and government requirements. Key Responsibilities
- Lifecycle Logistics Development
- Define and document sustainment concepts for radar subsystems (antenna, transmitter, signal processor).
- Support development of logistics product data (LPD) including parts lists, bill of materials (BOMs), and technical data packages (TDPs).
- Contribute to the Life Cycle Sustainment Plan (LCSP) in coordination with Kratos and Navy stakeholders.
- Supply Chain and Provisioning
- Assess parts availability, obsolescence risks, and long-term sparing requirements.
- Develop provisioning documentation to enable organic depot-level sustainment.
- Recommend sourcing strategies to mitigate diminishing manufacturing sources and material shortages (DMSMS).
- Maintenance Planning
- Support development of maintenance concepts, including repair, remanufacture, and prototyping workflows.
- Provide input to failure reporting, analysis, and corrective action system (FRACAS).
- Contribute to defining test equipment and support equipment requirements.
- Documentation and Deliverables
- Draft logistics analysis reports, risk assessments, and sustainment recommendations.
- Support technical IPTs and maintain assigned actions in the program action tracker.
- Prepare inputs for Navy sustainment reviews, milestone events, and program briefings.
- Integration with Engineering and Prototyping Teams
- Ensure logistics requirements are incorporated into conceptual and detailed design phases.
- Collaborate with system engineers, test engineers, and mechanical engineers to align sustainment strategies with prototype development.
- Provide government stakeholders with actionable logistics insights tied to readiness objectives.
Keyword: supply chain, secret clearance, AN/SPY-1, AEGIS
Required Experience:
Required Qualifications
- Bacheloris degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Engineering, or related discipline (or equivalent military/industry experience).
- Minimum of 7 years experience in defense logistics, sustainment planning, or lifecycle product support.
- Knowledge of DoD acquisition logistics policies (DoDI 5000.91, DAU Logistics Framework, LCSP development).
- Experience with radar, combat systems, or complex electronic systems sustainment preferred.
- Familiarity with Navy logistics systems (e.g., NDE, TDMIS, FEDLOG, CDMD-OA).
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Active DoD Secret (with ability to obtain Top Secret if required)
Desired Qualifications
- Experience supporting AN/SPY-1, AEGIS Combat System, or similar radar programs.
- Working knowledge of obsolescence management tools and DMSMS mitigation strategies.
- Prior experience contributing to depot-level stand-up or organic sustainment initiatives.
- Active participation in Integrated Product Teams (IPTs) and multi-contractor program environments.
Performance Metrics Success in this role will be measured by:
- Timely delivery of logistics documentation and analysis reports.
- Quality and accuracy of inputs to sustainment and prototyping deliverables.
- Effective closure of assigned IPT action items.
- Demonstrated alignment of logistics strategies with Navy readiness objectives and long-term sustainment goals.
