Onboarding & Offboarding HR Specialist

The Opportunity:

Whether executing onboarding and offboarding processes, facilitating onboarding orientations, tracking metrics and data, or flexing to support an emerging requirement, our clients need someone who can help manage operations while managing responses to external inquiries in a timely manner. That is why we need you, an experienced Onboarding & Offboarding HR Specialist who can provide high-quality support.

As part of our team, you'll serve as a strategic technical expert for the Advanced Research Projects Agency for Health (ARPA-H), helping conceptualize, create, and execute advanced government-funded research and development programs to accelerate better health outcomes for everyone. You'll work with world-class scientists and engineers to support the development of high-impact solutions to society's most challenging health problems. You will leverage technical expertise to provide strategic assessments of new technologies in support to senior ARPA-H decision-makers. You'll maintain responsibility for producing and presenting findings and recommendations to a team of colleagues and clients on the feasibility and potential impact of future research programs, assisting with the management of current programs, and facilitating commercialization of successfully developed technologies.

You'll serve as an Onboarding & Offboarding HR Specialist, helping clients to manage staff onboarding and offboarding, establish new business processes where necessary, and complete research and analysis to determine viable solutions. Your attention to detail, flexibility, communication skills, understanding of the client's mission, and problem-solving skills will enable the mission's success.

What You'll Work On:

  • Coordinate onboarding for incoming federal and contractor staff, including coordinating new hire orientation, answering questions, and providing additional assistance as needed throughout the onboarding process.

  • Facilitate new hire orientations on continuously scheduled basis.

  • Coordinate offboarding for outgoing federal and contractor staff, including tracking completion of required offboarding actions using applicable systems and checklists.

  • Coordinate with stakeholders across ARPA-H and within ARPA-H's HR office and work closely with partners in NIH to ensure delivery of a world-class onboarding experience.

  • Continuously work with the client team and other stakeholders to revise onboarding and offboarding business processes as the agency evolves and grows.

  • Work collaboratively with onboarding team to prepare reports related to onboarding and offboarding.

  • Ensure sensitive issues with onboarding or offboarding are appropriately and discreetly handled, including raising issues up to senior client leadership when and if appropriate.

You Have:

  • Experience managing and coordinating onboarding and offboarding of federal and contractor staff

  • Experience with data analysis, reporting, and dashboarding

  • Experience interacting and communicating with senior-level executives, including SES or GS-15

  • Experience using Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint

  • Ability to use government HR systems and processes to execute onboarding and offboarding

  • Ability to provide high-quality customer service and operate independently within in a fast-paced start-up environment

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirements

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:

  • Experience with U.S. government health organizations, including NIH or ARPA-H

  • Experience in Human Resources development and planning

  • Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities

  • Ability to manage multiple short- and long-term projects effectively

  • Ability to pay strict attention to detail and diligent adherence to deadlines and deliverables

  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Bachelor's degree in a Human Resources or related field

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $55,200.00 to $126,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
