Lafayette Group is seeking an experienced leader to manage and ensure successful client delivery of enterprise data management and analytics solutions in support of federal government programs, with a focus on delivering advanced geospatial analysis, data automation, and decision-support tools. This position will involve working closely with senior clients to understand current challenges and opportunities and leading teams of data analytics/business intelligence consultants to deliver high-quality solutions using modern technologies and development best practices. This individual will also be expected to mentor and develop junior team members and foster a culture of innovation, excellence, and enablement within the team, ensuring the successful implementation of data solutions that deliver mission and business value.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of enterprise data management and analytics solutions for federal clients.
- Translate client requirements into actionable data strategies, workflows, and decision-support tools that align with policy and program objectives.
- Oversee the integration of diverse datasets (e.g., structured/unstructured, geospatial, demographic, operational, financial) into scalable data platforms and pipelines.
- Manage teams in building interactive dashboards, predictive models, and reporting solutions using tools such as Power BI and ArcGIS dashboards.
- Apply advanced analytics techniques (e.g., statistical modeling, machine learning, geospatial analysis) to identify trends, forecast outcomes, and support investment decisions.
- Guide automation of data processing and transformation using Python, SQL, and modern cloud-based platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure, AWS).
- Establish and enforce data governance and quality assurance standards across all projects.
- Mentor and coach junior staff, promoting professional growth and innovative problem-solving.
- Present findings and solutions to diverse audiences including federal stakeholders, technical teams, and executive leadership.
Required Qualifications:
- 10+ years of experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or enterprise data management within the federal government or public sector.
- Proven leadership in managing cross-functional teams to deliver complex analytics or data management initiatives.
- Strong proficiency in modern data visualization and BI platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau, ArcGIS Dashboards).
- Hands-on experience with Python (e.g., Pandas, PySpark, GeoPandas) and SQL for data analysis, automation, and pipeline development.
- Experience leveraging cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Databricks, Azure, AWS, GCP) for data integration, processing, and advanced analytics.
- Familiarity with geospatial tools and workflows (e.g., ArcGIS Pro, ArcGIS Online) and ability to integrate geospatial methods into broader analytics solutions.
- Excellent communications skills with the ability to convey complex analytical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Strong organizational and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced consulting environment.
- Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, or related field.
- Must be eligible for and able to obtain a Department of Commerce public trust clearance (includes background check and fingerprinting).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience delivering analytics and decision-support solutions for federal agencies in domains such as infrastructure, broadband, emergency response, or economic development.
- Experience designing and deploying advanced analytics solutions leveraging machine learning, predictive modeling, or AI techniques.
- Familiarity with Esri Experience Builder, StoryMaps, or Survey123 as part of integrated analytics or communications workflows.
- Knowledge of federal data and geospatial programs (e.g., NTIA, FCC, Census, FEMA) and their data standards.
- Existing public trust or higher-level security clearance.
Location: Remote or DC Metro Area (Reston/Hybrid)
Federal Contracts:
This position involves working on federal contracts that require all workers on the contract to be U.S. Citizens. Additionally, some contracts may require the ability to obtain a security clearance.
Salary Range: $140,000 - 170,000
