The MECM (Microsoft Endpoint Configuration Manager) Analyst provides day-to-day operational support for our DHS customer in a large enterprise environment of over 40,000 endpoints. This role focuses on the administration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of MECM and related endpoint management tools, including Adaptiva, Axonius, and Tanium.
The MECM Analyst is responsible for patching, deployments, compliance reporting, and client health monitoring. They also provide technical support through ServiceNow ticketing, prepare accurate compliance and performance reports, and contribute to continuous improvement efforts by identifying trends and recommending corrective actions. The analyst works under the Technical Team Lead and collaborates with system administrators, security teams, and other stakeholders to maintain endpoint security and operational effectiveness.
Responsibilities:
Operations & Support:
- Administer and support MECM (formerly SCCM) for patching, application deployments, software updates, and compliance.
- Troubleshoot MECM client and server-side issues across a 40,000+ endpoint environment.
- Perform system monitoring, configuration, installation, and maintenance of MECM and associated tools.
- Support integration with Adaptiva, Axonius, and Tanium where applicable.
Monitoring & Reporting:
- Generate and deliver compliance and patching reports using MECM and Power BI.
- Conduct root-cause analysis on compliance gaps or failed deployments.
- Track and report error trends and provide corrective action recommendations.
Ticket & Documentation:
- Manage assigned ServiceNow ticket queues, ensuring timely resolution and documentation.
- Conduct trend analysis across tickets to identify recurring issues.
- Maintain and update work instructions, SOPs, and baseline system documentation.
Collaboration & Communication:
- Participate in technical discussions and provide briefing materials as needed.
- Communicate effectively with customers, stakeholders, and technical specialists.
- Provide daily and weekly status updates to the Technical Team Lead.
Required Skills/Experience:
- * Must be a U.S. Citizen and pass the DHS Employment Eligibility Verification process.
- Associate's degree in a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of IT support experience in enterprise environments.
- Hands-on experience with MECM/SCCM administration (patching, software deployments, compliance reporting, and client health troubleshooting).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows operating systems (Windows 10/11, Server 2019/2022).
- Familiarity with Microsoft Windows Server administration basics (roles, services, Active Directory integration).
- Proficiency in MS Office tools, with experience using Power BI for reporting and data visualization.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
- Experience with endpoint management tools such as Adaptiva, Axonius, or Tanium.
- Experience creating and implementing PowerShell scripts for automation.
- Experience with Microsoft Intune for endpoint management, patching, and compliance reporting in a hybrid MECM/Intune environment.
- Experience with ServiceNow or another ITSM ticketing system.
- Familiarity with Windows troubleshooting tools (Event Viewer, Update Logs, command-line).
- ITIL v4 certified.
