Job Responsibilities

  • Responsible for providing technical services to the customer including plant maintenance, plant troubleshooting, design/procurement/installation of plant equipment, compliance with health and safety issues, product quality control and industry standard conformance.
  • Responsible for providing marketing and sales services to the customer including developing sales aids/brochures, handling warranty issues, retail customer assistance, tradeshow participation and product knowledge training.
  • Assist the Product Development Team in bringing new products to market. Provide on-site plant technical support for the integration of new products. Tasks include assembling and interpreting data, reporting and training associate with new products.
  • Provide input in annual production and sales budgets.
  • Maximize profits on sales of treating equipment and services.
  • Manage accounts receivables for regional customers.
  • Represent company and the customers' interests in industry trade associations. Keep customers up to date with national industry trends and important engineering, marketing, technical and environmental issues.
  • Contribute to other related projects and plans not specifically noted necessary to obtain the objectives of the Wood Preserving Division.
  • Communicate effectively with customers to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical plant problems.
  • Remain current on emerging technologies.
  • Manage, direct and implement technical design and engineering construction activities as assigned.
  • Professionally represent company at industry meetings, trade associations, etc., as assigned or requested.
  • Coordinate equipment specification, acquisition, and sales, including invoicing and follow-up.
  • Analyze product or equipment specifications and performance requirements to determine optimal designs for wood treating plants and methods.
  • Determine feasibility of designing new plant equipment or modifying existing facilities considering costs, available space, time limitations, customer planning, and other technical and economic factors.
  • Communicate with customers on engineering equipment, technical products and process applications.
  • Coordinate with engineering, customer service, and research personnel to clarify and resolve problems and improve designs.
  • Coordinate preparation of product or system layouts with drawings and schematics.
  • Communicate well with customers to troubleshoot electrical and mechanical problems.
  • Inspect construction site to monitor progress and ensure conformance to engineering plans, specifications, and construction and safety standards.
  • Coordinate construction and maintenance activities on site, including communication with owners, construction personnel, and subcontract personnel assigned to project.
  • Train end users at customer treating plants to use equipment.
  • Perform other duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or related from an accredited college or university.
  • Willingness to work non-standard hours and travel overnight as necessary to achieve desired results or as requested by management.
  • Maintain a valid state driver's license.
  • Comply with all corporate policies and be sure the company's recommendations, designs and practices (including environmental and engineering) are in compliance with all local, state and federal laws and regulations.
  • Capable of effectively communicating in writing or speaking to various groups.
  • Physically capable of inspecting, servicing customer plants, and operating sites.
  • Agree to and sign and comply with all corporate non-compete and secrecy agreements.
  • Follow established corporate guidelines for general and capital expenditures.
  • Ability to meet deadlines, possess good organizational and follow-up skills, be detail oriented and able to handle multiple tasks.
