Overview
VTG is seeking a Senior Director, IT Integration to work in our Charleston, SC location. The Direct / Senior Director, Shore Integration plans, directs and coordinates all operational aspects of designated projects to ensure that goals and objectives of the business area are accomplished within prescribed time frame and funding parameters by performing the following duties personally or through subordinate supervisors. Participates in Program Management Reviews, Monthly Business Reviews (MBR), maintains relations with Government Contracting Officer Representative and requisite program engineer staff, and ensuring all contractor performance standards meet all contract requirements.
What will you do?
- Tracks the status of task orders and major ongoing tasks being performed by the project managers and teams.
- Determines and communicates detailed status information for all ongoing projects.
- Report's information in weekly and monthly business reviews
- Maintains awareness of the quality of the work being performed and must be able to implement corrective action quickly as needed to meet acceptable quality standards.
- Ensure tasks are staffed appropriately, and individuals meet quality, cost, and schedule commitments.
- Ensure that tasks are provided with adequate resources (personnel, time, tools, test equipment, training, etc.) to meet cost and schedule commitments.
- Develop an effective program for training personnel and developing and documenting effective and efficient work practices - including program management and quality assurance practices.
- Implement an effective Management Information System to track costs, schedules, quality, and Government Property (both contractor and Government-furnished).
- Utilize Microsoft Project or equivalent software that can produce Microsoft Project compatible files for tracking project management.
- Train junior personnel in financial tracking, cost estimation, and EVM / ETC methods and requirements.
- Reviews program proposal or plan to determine time frame, funding limitations, procedures for accomplishing program, staffing requirements, and allotment of available resources to various phases of the program.
- Establishes work plan and staffing for each phase of the program and arranges for recruitment or assignment of program personnel.
- Confers with program managers to outline work plans and to assign duties, responsibilities, and scope of authority.
- Directs and coordinates activities of program personnel to ensure the program progresses on schedule and within the prescribed budget.
- Reviews status reports prepared by program managers' personnel and modifies schedules or plans as required.
- Prepares program reports for management, client, or others.
- Confers with program managers to assess program issues and to develop a resolution.
- Coordinates program activities with activities of government regulatory or other governmental agencies
Supervisory Responsibilities
- Manages program managers subordinate supervisors who supervise one or more employees in a designated department.
- Responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation business area.
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
- Assists with proposing, implementing, and enforcing policies, standards, and methodologies.
- Supervises all contracted personnel engaged in the operation and support of communications infrastructure.
- Provides development of Quality Assurance Plan as part of the project management plan and the implementation of procedures that conforms to the requirements of the contract.
- Provides an independent assessment of how the project's development process is being implemented relative to the defined process and recommends methods to optimize the organization's process.
Do you have what it takes?
Education and/or Experience
- Fifteen (15) years of technical experience in planning and executing the installation and testing and support of Command, Control, Communications, Computing, Intelligence, Surveillance and Reconnaissance (C4ISR) systems.
- Eight (8) years of experience in managing the design, implementation, inspection, testing, and completion of various system installation efforts. Of this experience, a minimum of five years must have been in managing installations at shore facilities. In addition, at least five years of experience in managing sub-contracting requirements is required.
- Five (5) years of experience in coordinating proposals, developing cost estimates, and budgeting for various installation work.
- Five (5) years of experience in demonstrating the ability to coordinate and interface with Government personnel (military/civilian), contractors, and sub-contractors in the field of C4ISR installations.
- Four (4) years of working-level experience in developing and implementing installation designs and in testing and inspecting completed installations.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, engineering technology, math or physics and 15 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Computer Skills
- To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Microsoft Project, Excel, and Microsoft Office.

- Security clearance, valid driver's license.
Other Skills and Abilities
- Knowledge on contract execution and financial impacts and planning.
Other Qualifications
- Extensive travel may be required.
