  • Hours: Mon, Thurs, & Fri 8a-5p, W & Th 8a-6p, Sat 8a-12p

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Medical Assistant:
    • Obtains vital signs, weights, and hearing and vision testing when needed, and all other tests within the scope of the practice
    • Assist with maintaining patient flow to and from exam rooms and treatment areas. Assists in escorting patients and specimens throughout the facility
    • Performs laboratory test procedures within established criteria
    • Adheres to safety and scientifically accepted infection control practices and standards
    • Stocks exam room/treatment rooms with medical supplies, linen, and designated chart forms. Notify the Office Manager when supplies are low
    • Ensures exam rooms and treatment areas are cleaned after each patient leaves and prepared for the next patient. Assists with light housekeeping duties which include spills
    • Cleans and sterilizes designated equipment after use
    • Assists patients and communicate with Physicians to obtain prescription renewals as needed
  • Receptionist:
    • Demonstrate excellent customer service in welcoming and assisting patients and visitors
    • Check patients in and out
    • Obtain patient co-payments
    • Schedule appointments
    • Maintain heavy call volume
    • Complete various patient, insurance or organizations forms effectively and efficiently
    • Verify and scan patient insurance information
    • Generate referrals as needed
    • Ability to function as an effective team member. Works well alongside physicians, nurses and other ancillary staff
    • Demonstrates courtesy to the patient at all times, incorporating C-I-CARE into all patient interactions
    • Ability to communicate effectively
    • Performs other duties as assigned
    • Work with integrity, uphold UHG's mission, values, and maintain confidentiality in all situations

Required Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED
  • BLS certification or willing to obtain within 30 days of hire
  • Be able to work Saturday and Sunday with flexible availability

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Electronic Medical Records (EMR) experience - Epic
  • Customer Service experience Clinical experience, especially in Pediatrics
  • Knowledge of Medical Terminology
  • Bilingual English and Spanish

Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. In addition to your salary, we offer benefits such as, a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements). The hourly pay for this role will range from $16.00 to $27.69 per hour based on full-time employment. We comply with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
