About the Program

Multnomah Crisis and Treatment Center (CATC) - Secure Sub-Acute, Crisis Residential Treatment

16-bed facility serving adults 18+ experiencing a mental health crisis

Open 24/7

Service Areas:



  • Care Oregon Clients: Clackamas, Washington, and Multnomah Counties


  • Uninsured, Medicare only, or Open Card: Multnomah County residents only


  • Trillium clients: Clackamas, Washington, and Multnomah Counties


CATC provides comprehensive psychiatric and crisis stabilization services in a safe, recovery-focused inpatient environment. Our multidisciplinary team includes peer specialists, clinicians, nurses, a psychiatrist, and recovery staff-working together to support residents 24 hours a day.

About the Role: Intake Coordinator (QMHP)

As the Intake Coordinator QMHP, you will be the first point of contact for all new residents entering the program as well as the main contain for all external customers who are referring clients to CATC. You'll ensure a smooth, compassionate, and clinically sound referral process while serving as a key liaison with referral sources.

Your role is critical in setting the tone for recovery-helping residents feel welcomed, assessed thoroughly, and connected to the right services from the start.

What You'll Do



  • Oversee and manage all referrals for the Multnomah CATC program.


  • Review clinical documents to determine if client meets clinical necessity for this level of care.


  • Coordinate with referral sources (community outreach workers, hospitals, walk-in clinics, Unity Center) to ensure accurate and timely admissions.


  • Ensure clients have correct insurance and complete authorization requests in compliance with Telecare and contract standards.


  • Provide education to residents and families about the intake process, CATC, and other options available in the community if they do not meet this level of care.


  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary team to ensure you are aware of current milieu concerns and are scheduling intakes at times that work for the team.


  • Assist guardians with filling out intake paperwork before client arrives, answering guardians' questions or concerns, and providing general support.


  • Serve as a resource and coach for team members on best practices when it comes to managing the referral process.


Schedule: 12 hours a week, preference is Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 09:30am-01:30pm but open to discussing schedule.

Pay Range: $26.46 - $32.69 per hour (commensurate with experience; adjusted for location)

What We're Looking For

Required:



  • Master's degree completed in a behavioral science field (psychology, social work, counseling, or related) which leads to QMHP with Oregon MHACBO.


  • Must have MHACBO QMHP: https://www.mhacbo.org/en/mentalhealth/qmhp-r/


  • At least 18 years of age.


Preferred:



  • Experience with reviewing behavioral health referrals, including clinical documentation, and deciding on appropriate levels of care.


  • Familiarity with Recovery and Rehabilitation philosophy.


  • Specialized knowledge/experience working with Smartsheets and excel.


  • Specialized knowledge/experience in vocational, housing, or dual diagnosis services.


  • Bilingual abilities a plus.

  • Strong clinical assessment and risk evaluation skills.


  • Excellent organizational and communication skills for managing multiple intake referrals.


  • Ability to provide trauma-informed, compassionate engagement at first contact.


  • Confidence in collaborating across internal teams and external community partners.
