About the role:

As a Senior Tax Associate in GTBS you will be responsible for US domestic reporting and compliance matters including Federal, State and Sales and Use Tax. A successful candidate for this role will embrace a mindset of continuous improvement through leveraging best-in-class processes and technologies to deliver on their objectives. They will also foster a spirit of collaboration and professionalism in their interactions with various interdepartmental partners such as Legal, Treasury, Finance, and Commercial colleagues.

What you'll do:

  • Responsible for preparation of US federal, state and consolidated provision under US GAAP reporting inclusive of collaboration with a wider tax team, calculation of ETR, SOX, and C-Suite deliverables.
  • Responsible for preparation of federal and state income tax returns, inclusive of quarterly estimates and annual extensions
  • Assist with tax portion of external reporting (10Q and 10K) and technical research related to tax accounting principles.
  • Roll forward, update and self-review of various federal and state workpapers
  • Liaise with federal and state tax authorities on behalf of Gartner to resolve tax audits and inquiries/notices.
  • Assist in developing and implementing tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities and enhance compliance.
  • Support team in all aspects of the function including project management, idea generation, process improvements and implementation.

What you'll need:

  • Minimum a bachelor's degree in a relevant field (such as Accounting, Business, Finance, or a related field). CPA or master's degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 2-4 years of work experience in field, public accounting background strongly preferred
  • General working knowledge of domestic taxation principles and ASC 740 concepts
  • Strong critical thinking, analytical and quantitative skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex information
  • Working knowledge of Oracle Fusion or similar ERP/ EPM
  • Must be proficient with Microsoft Excel/Office. Familiarity with OneSource Tax Provision, GAM, UTP and Corptax Returns (or similar tax software), Alteryx, PowerBI, Power Query preferred

Gartner believes in fair and equitable pay. A reasonable estimate of the base salary range for this role is 84,000 USD - 116,000 USD. Please note that actual salaries may vary within the range, or be above or below the range, based on factors including, but not limited to, education, training, experience, professional achievement, business need, and location. In addition to base salary, employees will participate in either an annual bonus plan based on company and individual performance, or a role-based, uncapped sales incentive plan.
