D442 SONAR Hull Arrays Engineer
Overview The SONAR Hull Arrays team is responsible for the development, qualification, integration, testing and fleet support of contractor furnished and government furnished SONAR hull arrays and sensors for all submarine classes. SONAR Hull Arrays/Systems (C4ISR Systems Integration and Engineering D442) requires engineers to assist in Systems Engineering efforts related to contractor furnished SONAR systems. Areas of responsibility include Large Aperture Bow (LAB) Array, Light Weight Wide Aperture Array (LWWAA), High Frequency Chin Array (HFCA), CAVES Bow Conformal Array, SSN(X) concept arrays and sensors and various Government Furnished Equipment (GFE) SONAR sensors, arrays and components. The successful engineer will perform systems engineering efforts from initial concept, system design and development through hardware/software integration, component qualification, testing, construction support, delivery and post-delivery support to include analysis and resolution of fleet identified problems, assessment of obsolescence issues and identification of components for technical refresh. The position requires the engineer perform technology investigations, trade-studies, identify/resolve program risks, identify opportunities for cost reduction and validate methods to ensure producible end products. The position requires the engineer to interface with the NAVSEA customer, Naval Shipyards, NAVY Labs, UARCs, sub-contractors and other EB departments and stakeholders as necessary. Qualifications Required:
A Bachelor's degree or higher in Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Systems Engineering, Mechanical Engineering
