Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced FPGA Designer/Programmer to join our engineering team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in FPGA architecture, RTL design, and hardware-software integration. You will be responsible for designing, implementing, and verifying high-performance FPGA-based systems for [insert application domain: e.g., signal processing, embedded systems, networking, etc.].

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement FPGA solutions using VHDL/Verilog/SystemVerilog.
  • Develop and optimize RTL code for performance, area, and power.
  • Integrate FPGA designs with embedded processors and external interfaces (e.g., PCIe, DDR, Ethernet).
  • Perform simulation, synthesis, place-and-route, and timing analysis.
  • Collaborate with hardware, software, and systems engineers to define and refine system requirements.
  • Create and maintain documentation including design specifications, test plans, and user manuals.
  • Debug and validate FPGA designs in lab environments using tools like oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and JTAG.
  • Stay current with FPGA technologies, tools, and best practices.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related field.
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in FPGA design and development.
  • Proficiency in VHDL, Verilog, and/or SystemVerilog.
  • Experience with FPGA toolchains (e.g., Xilinx Vivado, Intel Quartus, Lattice Diamond).
  • Strong understanding of digital design principles, timing closure, and hardware debugging.
  • Familiarity with scripting languages (e.g., Python, Tcl, Bash) for automation.
  • Experience with simulation tools (ModelSim, QuestaSim, etc.).

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with high-speed interfaces (e.g., SERDES, JESD204, AXI).
  • Knowledge of embedded systems and SoC platforms (e.g., Zynq, Stratix, Versal).
  • Familiarity with hardware description modeling tools (e.g., HLS, MATLAB/Simulink).
  • Background in signal processing, machine learning acceleration, or networking protocols.
  • Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
