Job Summary

The Inspector is responsible for performing detailed visual inspections of circuit card assemblies to ensure compliance with manufacturing specifications and industry standards. This role involves evaluating solder connections, surface mount components, plated through-hole assemblies, and conformal coating in accordance with IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 requirements. The ideal candidate demonstrates strong attention to detail, technical accuracy, and the ability to communicate effectively across manufacturing teams to uphold quality standards.

Job Responsibilities




  • Perform visual inspections of solder joints, conformal coatings, and component placements on circuit card assemblies in compliance with IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 standards



  • Review and interpret technical drawings, work instructions, and inspection checklists to verify product quality



  • Utilize precision measurement tools such as dial indicators, micrometers, and scales to assess components and assemblies



  • Identify, document, and communicate quality issues or defects in a clear and professional manner



  • Maintain accurate inspection records and ensure adherence to revision control and documentation standards



  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to address nonconformities and support corrective actions



  • Follow established inspection procedures and company quality management protocols



  • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in accordance with company policies



  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance inspection processes and overall product quality




Job Requirements




  • Minimum of 2 years of experience inspecting solder connections and conformal coatings on printed wiring boards (PWBs)



  • Demonstrated knowledge and hands-on experience with IPC-A-610 and IPC-J-STD-001 standards



  • Strong ability to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, parts lists, and technical manuals



  • Excellent attention to detail with strong problem-solving and analytical skills



  • Effective verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to work diplomatically across departments



  • Proficiency with personal computers and electronic documentation tools



  • Team-oriented mindset with a commitment to maintaining high quality standards




Additional Job Details




  • Location: Clearwater, FL



  • Schedule: Monday through Thursday, 3:30 p.m. to 2:00 a.m.



  • Overtime: Weekend overtime as required



  • Work Environment: Manufacturing and production setting with adherence to quality and safety standards
