Job Description

APPLICANTS MUST BE CURRENTLY ENROLLED IN AN ENGINEER UNDERGRADUATE PROGRAM.

Position: Engineering Co-op

Primary Location: East St. Louis, MO

Reports To: Maintenance Manager

Compensation: $22 - $29 per hour. Hourly rates are determined by role, level, and location. The hourly rate displayed on each job posting reflects the starting rate for new hires for the position. Rates may also be determined by work location and additional factors, including job related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. More specific rate factors for your preferred location can be discussed during the hiring process.

About This Role and You

This position is directly involved in assisting the engineering team at the East St. Louis plant with their daily activities. The primary focus of the co-op will be support to EHS and Manufacturing efforts.

Responsibilities

    Understanding, upholding, demonstrating and improving the Chemtrade safety culture
  • Collection of plant process data
  • Provides technical information to the engineering, operations and maintenance functions as requested.
  • Assisting in initiating plant investigations related to proposed changes in the plant process.
  • Establishing and sustaining process safety information
  • Assisting with maintenance and CAPEX projects
  • Assisting with ECP generation and revision
  • Assisting with safety and operation procedure and revision
  • Assisting with JSA generation and revision
  • Line labeling and equipment tagging
  • Any other duties as assigned that are deemed to pose a minimum risk

Experience & Education

  • Education: 2nd/ 3rd Year Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical Engineering Student
  • Minimum GPA: 2.5 / 4.0
  • Technical Skills: Proficient in all areas of engineering, computers, and engineering programs as expected from a chemical engineering student. Good organization and communication skills.
