Position Overview
The Phlebotomist I and II (Patient Services Representative I and II) play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and laboratory services. This position involves collecting blood specimens, ensuring specimen integrity, and delivering exceptional patient service. The phlebotomist represents the organization with professionalism and empathy, maintaining accuracy, confidentiality, and patient trust at all times. Job Responsibilities
Perform daily phlebotomy activities accurately and efficiently under the direction of the area supervisor
Collect quality blood specimens and prepare samples for laboratory testing following established procedures
Conduct both forensic and clinical specimen collections with confidence, ensuring patient safety and comfort
Explain procedures clearly to patients and create a supportive, professional environment
Maintain accurate records, documentation, and specimen tracking in accordance with company and regulatory standards
Uphold a clean, organized, and safe workspace consistent with infection control and safety protocols
Demonstrate strong organizational and communication skills while promoting a positive and professional image to patients, clients, and colleagues
Adapt to flexible scheduling needs, including weekends, holidays, on-call, and overtime as required
Deliver excellent customer service while maintaining sensitivity to patient confidentiality and data accuracy
Job Requirements
Ability to provide quality, error-free work in a fast-paced environment
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
Excellent phlebotomy skills, including pediatric and geriatric patients
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a focus on patient experience
Keyboarding and data entry proficiency required
Must reside within a 25-minute commute of the assigned work location
Reliable transportation required for travel to and from worksites (public transit or rideshare not acceptable)
Education
High school diploma or equivalent required
Medical training such as Medical Assistant or Paramedic preferred
Phlebotomy certification preferred (required in California, Nevada, and Washington)
Work Experience Phlebotomist I
Minimum of 6 months of phlebotomy experience required
One or more years of phlebotomy experience preferred
Customer service experience in retail or service environments preferred
Phlebotomist II
Minimum of 3 years of phlebotomy experience required, including pediatric, geriatric, and capillary collections
Minimum of 2 years in a Patient Service Center environment preferred
Customer service experience preferred

Candidates must include their home city on their resume; pay rate is determined by direct years of experience (overlapping roles are not counted twice)
Must have reliable personal transportation to and from assigned worksites
Must be available to work all scheduled shifts in full
Excessive absenteeism or tardiness may result in termination
Candidates must verify commute time prior to submission and reside within 25 minutes of the assigned location
