Overview
This role is responsible for supporting US GAAP financial and regulatory reporting, general ledger integrity, and regulatory compliance for Johnson Financial Group and subsidiaries. The ideal candidate will have strong technical accounting skills, a solid understanding of banking operations and banking-specific GAAP, and a proactive approach to problem-solving. The Accounting Analyst will be involved in all facets of bank financial statement reporting, associated controls and analysis. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Prepare US GAAP financial reports, including footnotes, as well as regulatory results for the consolidated company and subsidiaries.
- Lead company-wide initiatives bringing together cross functional teams while working within a Senior Management environment.
- Evaluates process improvement opportunities and actively prioritize and drive efforts to maximize results and produce more timely and accurate financial information. Knowledgeable about JFG and how to get things done both formally and informally through an understanding of key policies and practices.
- Develops policies and procedures to support significant enterprise-wide financial activities.
- Review and analyse financial data to support decision-making processes.
- Prepare consolidating entries and ensure completion of all necessary intercompany elimination entries.
- Coordinate and prepare consolidated equity roll forward and related equity checks.
- Collaborate with Line of Business leaders, the Federal Reserve, Internal Audit, and independent auditors on accounting policy, financial and regulatory reporting, and internal controls.
- Reconcile general ledger accounts and investigate discrepancies.
- Monitor compliance with GAAP, internal policies, and banking regulations.
- Provide assistance on special projects related to enterprise initiatives.
- Maintain expertise in areas of accounting such as US GAAP, tax, or regulatory reporting.
- Work with business units to communicate the financial impacts of operations.
- Maintain confidentiality of sensitive JFG information.

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required. MBA preferred.
- CPA preferred.
- 10-15 years of accounting experience, ideally in banking or financial services.
- Comprehensive understanding of financial statements and regulatory reporting.
- Proficient with bank related accounting issues, financial statements and reports.
- Proficient in Excel and accounting systems.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Conducts sophisticated analysis of data to identify trends and anomalies.
- Self-motivated and proactive.
- Works well independently and in teams.
- Can manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
- Accurate in data entry, reporting, and reconciliation.
