Summary: Goldbelt Professional Services, LLC is seeking a responsible and professional Epidemiologist and Project Management Specialist with experience conducting epidemiologic analyses, literature reviews, and providing comprehensive project coordination support. This dual-role position integrates technical research with operational oversight to inform scientific inquiry, program development, and stakeholder engagement in the public health industry. The successful candidate will conduct in-depth literature reviews and epidemiological analyses, while also leading project planning, documentation, scheduling, and reporting to ensure effective execution of public health initiatives. The position bridges data-driven scientific expertise with structured project management to advance evidence-based decision-making.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:
- Epidemiologic Support
- Provide epidemiology, statistical, surveillance, research, and field investigation support, including data collection, management, and analysis.
- Perform epidemiological analysis using SAS and/or R.
- Develop, revise, and review study protocols, questionnaires, and data collection instruments.
- Present findings and trends to stakeholders to enable informed public health decision-making.
- Assist with preparation of technical reports, scientific manuscripts, and presentations.
- Literature Review (Research Support):
- Conduct systematic reviews of academic, government, and industry literature relevant to public health.
- Analyze and synthesize findings on health interventions, epidemiologic methods, environmental exposures, and surveillance technologies.
- Develop annotated bibliographies, literature maps, and technical summaries to support program design and publications.
- Identify trends, gaps, and innovations relevant to public health practice.
- Utilize citation management tools (e.g., Zotero, EndNote, Mendeley) to organize research records
- Project Management Support:
- Assist in the development and maintenance of project plans, timelines, and deliverable tracking.
- Coordinate communications and tasks among cross-functional team members and external stakeholders.
- Support grant and contract reporting, milestone documentation, and technical presentations.
- Monitor progress toward project goals and assist in risk identification and mitigation planning.
- Draft and edit reports, memos, and presentations for internal and external dissemination.
Qualifications
Necessary Skills and Knowledge:
- Demonstrated independent literature review work, either through graduate-level training or professional experience.
- Knowledge of R, SAS, or other statistical programming tools.
- Strong project management skills, including development of timelines, progress tracking, and reporting.
- Ability to collect and analyze data, leading to action-oriented recommendations.
- Strong oral and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least three (3) years of experience in epidemiology, research, or project management in a public health setting.
- Work experience as an epidemiologist, biostatistician, bioinformatician, or public health researcher.
- Experience managing projects with visibility in the public health sector.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master's or Ph.D. in Public Health, Epidemiology, or a related field from an accredited institution.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent training.
- Experience developing and implementing public health informatics platforms or surveillance resources for government or academic institutions.
- Recognized contributions to the field through peer-reviewed publications and conference presentations.
- Previous experience with federal government agencies, preferably with CDC.
Pay and Benefits The salary range for this position is $105,000 to $115,000 annually. At Goldbelt, we value and reward our team's dedication and hard work.
