AsaRecreation Therapist, you willbe responsibleforpatientcare and related activities for all referred patients within departmental and professional practice standards. You will serve as a clinical resource in Therapeutic Recreation and adaptive sportsinterventions and participate in program planning and development for Therapeutic Recreation.

Primary Duties:

  • Provideseffective and efficientevidence-basedcare.Providesindividualized patient care duties as it relates to Recreation Therapy following accreditation guidelines, professional code of ethics, and standards of practice toincludeevaluation/ re-evaluation, treatment planning, patient/caregiver education, and discharge planning.

  • Demonstrates sound clinical reasoning during patient care to maximize effective and safe outcomes. Demonstrates leadership skills in coaching/managing quality adaptive sports programming in our community programregardingsafety, budgeting,maintainingof equipment,appropriate paperwork, volunteers and serving as liaison to national organization and partners.

  • Follows MNRH documentation policy tomaintain accurateandtimelydocumentation to include assessment, clinical interventions, flowsheets, discharge recommendations. Documentation reflectsthe needfor acute rehab level of care to include patient/ family education, training, treatmentintensityand duration.

  • Demonstrates effective time management and meets productivity expectations. Maintainsaccurateschedules for assigned patients and professional activities.

  • Coordinates adaptive sports programming. Ensures necessary supplies and equipment available for patient care and for community adaptive sports programming. Istimely,punctual,and prepared.

Qualifications:

Graduate of an accredited college or university with abachelor'sdegree or higher in Therapeutic Recreation or Recreation and Leisure Studies with a Therapeutic option/emphasis.

Advanced training in clinicalexpertisethrough workshop attendance.

Minimum of12-weekTherapeutic Recreation Internship in a clinical setting, preferably in physical rehabilitation.

Therapeutic Recreation Specialist by the National Council for Therapeutic Recreation Certification (NCTRC).

Local driver's license and maintenance of a safe driving record.

CurrentBLS (Basic Life Support)Certification.

Member in good standing of professional, discipline- specific organization.

1-2 years of clinicalexperience in a rehabilitation settingpreferred.

This position has a hiring range of $45,843 - $79,892
