MedStar Health is looking for a Staffing Associate DON to join our team at MedStar Washington Hospital! Performs staffing functions and activities for all Patient Care Units in accordance with established policies and procedures. Assists in maintaining accurate staffing levels for clinical and support personnel for all Patient Care Units. Responsible for maintaining all edits on a daily basis for payroll, ClairVia (when operationalized), and other duties as assigned. * Coordinate and maintain staffing for all Patient Care Units, including managing call-outs, securing extra staff, and ensuring adequate coverage in collaboration with Nurse Managers and Directors. * Create, edit, and maintain accurate staff schedules using API and ClairVia systems; proactively review schedules for accuracy, variances, and census integrity. * Monitor compliance with scheduling deadlines, licensure renewals, and attendance policies; communicate concerns (e.g., chronic absenteeism, tardiness) to leadership. * Serve as a key communication point: answering phones professionally, relaying shift changes and staffing updates to co-workers and Nurse Managers. * Support the scheduling office by assisting co-workers with administrative tasks and understanding staff roles to ensure appropriate job placement and coverage. Minimum Qualifications: * Education & Training: High School Diploma or GED required; up to one year of specialized training in office procedures, customer service, and typing/keyboarding preferred. * Experience: 1-3 years in an Office Assistant II or similar role with proven organizational, communication, and computer skills; payroll and/or scheduling experience preferred. * Skills & Knowledge: Proficient in reading, writing, grammar, basic math (fractions/decimals), and the use of standard office and medical equipment; capable of handling data entry, recordkeeping, and schedule management using databases, charts, and tables. This position has a hiring range of $25.278 - $38.361 |
