General Summary of Position Responsible for oversight of patient experience measurement services, project management, data analysis and research reporting. Oversees the day-to-day relationship between MedStar Health and its primary survey vendor, Press Ganey. Manages a growing portfolio of patient experience surveys and public review measurement services. Advises entity and system leaders on the patient experience measurement process. Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Develops department goals, objectives, policies, and procedures. Ensures compliance with business unit policies and procedures and governmental and accreditation regulations.Subject matter expert and consultant on all aspects of the patient experience survey process and data including (but not limited to) compiling patient demographics from hospital level EMR systems that allow for useful segmentation of the data; understanding and being able to effectively explain how the vendor has scientifically tested and proven its survey tools; continuous data discovery utilizing the many custom research analyses provided by the vendor.Oversees the management and monitoring of patient discharge/encounter records for data quality. Collaborates with IT staff and patient survey vendors to quickly research and resolve data problems. Ensures that inclusion/exclusion criteria are applied in accordance with established survey protocols. Where possible, anticipates problems before they arise.Mentors and advises entity end-users on how to effectively use patient experience survey results by providing hands-on coaching supported by high performer best practices.Creates meaning and engagement through customized training of the online reporting tool and tailored presentations of patient experience survey results to meet the needs of all audiences through compelling presenting skills with data.Advises entity stakeholders on linking their patient experience measurement and improvement needs with the expansive menu of vendor offerings through an intimate knowledge of both parties. Proactively shares research insights with stakeholders as appropriate.Partners with Brand Strategy leaders to oversee and manage the MedStar Health Consumerism platform. Serves as the system data expert between patient experience and reputation management data. Ensures that patient experience surveys accurately trigger Google review solicitations. Develops, enhances, and prepares monthly dashboard reports of survey and review results for senior leaders. Collaborates with management and key stakeholders in the prioritization, planning, development, and execution of qualitative and quantitative consumer research and analysis in support of strategic corporate initiatives.Takes initiative to network internally and build strong working relationships with key MedStar Health research stakeholders.Leads the design and implementation of analyses in graphic and written form to deliver compelling consumer insights that inform key business decisions.Directs outside vendors in customizing research design and methodology to make realistic, insightful, and actionable recommendations.Works independently to conceptualize and execute research studies to address marketing objectives and help drive consumer-based strategy and decision-making.Develops working knowledge of consumer behavior and consumer research best practices in healthcare and other industries.
Minimum Qualifications Education
- Bachelor's degree Bachelor's Degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Health Administration or Public Health
required and - Master's degree Master's degree in Market Research, Survey Research, Business Administration, Health Administration or Public Health preferred
Experience
- 5-7 years 4 to 5 years of experience managing data-intensive projects, preferably in health care required and
- experience coordinating and managing project stakeholders; experience with quantitative and qualitative market research; experience using software programs to collect, maintain, manipulate, present data and experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau required and
- SPSS or Q experience preferred
Licenses and Certifications
- No special certification, registration or licensure required.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
- Strong project management skills.
- Solid knowledge of quantitative and qualitative research methods and survey research statistics.
- Familiarity with statistical software and data analysis tools.
- Attention to detail.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills. Understanding of how research insights inform and support organizational strategy.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively and proactively with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
