THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK

In this position, you will oversee and guide psychological service programs to ensure that clinical protocols and therapies specific to sex offenses align with relevant policies, procedures, and regulations. You will be responsible for planning, organizing, and directing all aspects of the treatment program for clients in residential care. Your duties include maintaining sex offense-specific treatment program operations in accordance with secure civil commitment treatment standards, using the latest methodologies, and ensuring compliance with all applicable codes, rules, regulations, and program policies. You will ensure the unit functions efficiently and effectively both clinically and programmatically while adhering to administrative, fiscal, and security guidelines. Additionally, you will evaluate professional training needs to support treatment staff competence in fulfilling their duties and collaborate with the training director to coordinate relevant training. This role requires making independent routine decisions based on professional expertise, job knowledge, and competence.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • One year as a Licensed Psychologist Manager (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration); or
  • Two years as a Licensed Psychologist, MH or a Psychologist (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration) one year of which must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity; or
  • Two years of experience as a licensed professional psychologist in the treatment of inmates or individuals with mental illness and/or intellectual disability, one year of which must have been in a supervisory or administrative capacity.

Special Requirements:

  • This position requires the possession of a current license to practice psychology as issued by the Pennsylvania State Board of psychology or possession of a current license to practice psychology as issued by another state with licensure requirements acceptable to the Board. [Pennsylvania licensure must be obtained within one year of employment]

Other Requirements:

  • PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title.
  • You must be able to perform essential job functions.

  • A conditional offer of employment will require a medical examination.
  • This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act.
    • Under the Act, a conditional offer of employment will require submission and approval of satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance.
