EHS Technician

Plymouth, MN


EHS Technician position is a 6-month contract role based in Plymouth, MN, with the possibility of extension depending on business needs. Overtime hours beyond 40 per week will be compensated at time and a half.

The role primarily supports the R&D and Operations teams by providing health and safety expertise across various programs and initiatives. Key responsibilities include conducting employee training, performing plant inspections and hazard evaluations, and supporting technical standard management and audit preparation. The technician will also be responsible for updating and maintaining regulatory programs such as Respiratory Protection, Lockout/Tagout, and Hazard Communication, while assisting with equipment safety assessments, job safety analyses, and physical site safety preparation.

Day-to-day support for health and safety issues and participation in EHS committees are also part of the role.

  • Candidates should have 0-3 years of experience in EHS or related fields such as quality, auditing, or continuous improvement. A bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related discipline is highly preferred, though a 2-year technical degree is acceptable.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills are essential, along with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with documentation and audits.
  • Familiarity with OSHA standards and manufacturing operations is highly desirable.
  • While the position is mostly office-based, it requires the ability to spend 2-4 hours daily walking the floor to conduct safety assessments and document findings.
  • Local candidates are strongly preferred.
