This position reports to the Superintendent, SPA/Fertilizer/Shipping.

This position is located in Aurora, North Carolina, U.S.A. and is not available for remote work.

What you will do:



  • Responsible for optimizing the operation of the departmental equipment while making sure that neither safety, nor the environment is compromised
  • Ensure that the quality and production goals are accomplished
  • Address maintenance issues (which inhibit the efficient operation of the process equipment) either through modifications and the workorder system or by requesting capital funds for improvements
  • Conduct employee training to communicate changes in operating parameters as well as dealing with newly installed equipment
  • Responsible for the site material balance along with monthly and annual production forecasting/budgeting
  • Identify and implement cost-savings projects
  • Assist in the identification and implementation of safety and environmental improvement projects
  • Track and provide recommendations to ensure that production tonnage meets or exceeds plan
  • Provide material balance forecasting and assistance with cost forecasting
  • Ensure area safety and compliance with OSHA and environmental regulations
  • Initiate and coordinate immediate and long-term change and continual improvement of operations through the use of teams
  • Maintain product quality and profitability by controlling the supply and consumption of process chemicals, setting up and monitoring quality systems which place responsibility for quality on the operators, and investigating in-process quality concerns
  • Provide root cause analysis leadership and involvement in work management process
  • Identify, request and apply capital funds for improvement and sustaining projects
  • Guide contract operations activities and spending for cost effectiveness
  • Participate in team meetings monthly to improve safety and environmental awareness
  • Assist in employee training to communicate changes in operating parameters as well as dealing with newly installed equipment
  • Customer complaint resolution, safety and environmental presentations, plant tests, procedure modifications, coordination with state agencies and quality teams are key elements of this job



What you will bring:



  • Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering or similar engineering field is required
  • 5+ years' experience; Process Engineering is preferred
  • Knowledge in chemical engineering processes
  • Excellent work ethic
  • High degree of "people" skills, in addition to the technical aspects of the job
  • Thorough ability to communicate and direct activities of operators and maintenance
  • Experience in monitoring costs (operating costs and turnaround costs)
  • Proficiency oral and written communication skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft programs
  • Possesses the strength and dexterity to personally inspect any area of responsibility that may affect employee safety and environmental integrity
  • Basic understanding of accounting practices, engineering, safety, environmental practices, industrial plant maintenance, communication skills and computer skills

Compensation & Benefits:

We are offering relocation assistance, 410K, Medical Dental, Vision, and Short Term incentive programs. Salary Ranges from 110K-135K depending on experience.

We provide an attractive benefits package that includes catastrophic coverages including life, accidental death and dismemberment, and business travel accident insurance for a position of at least three months in duration and more than 30 hours per week. Our benefit package also demonstrates our culture of care with paid sick days and holidays as well as an Employee and Family Assistance Program. A Student or Intern role does not participate in any retirement savings or incentive programs. Nutrien will comply with benefit and retirement regulations, as necessary. Details of the benefits package will be shared in the application process.
