ANESTHESIA TECHNICIAN Department: Anesthesiology Schedule: 40 hours per week, Afternoon Shift, 1:00pm - 9:30pm, Rotating weekends and holidays Hospital: Henry Ford St John Hospital Location: Detroit, MI GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs a variety of duties in surgical services to maintain a well-supplied, sterile environment. Performs terminal cleaning of each operating room daily, including thorough decontamination of furniture, equipment and air vents. Transports case carts, equipment and supplies and disposes of hazardous waste according to policies and procedures. Monitors and maintains supply inventories at an appropriate par level. Provides physical assistance for patient positioning, lifting and, moving as directed by clinical nursing staff. REQUIREMENTS: High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required. Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable. Associate's degree as Anesthesia technologist, or one year of experience in a medical setting preferred. BLS certification (or obtained within 6 months of hire).
