Supervisor - Certification

Job Summary:
  • Effectively manage a team across multiple sites to achieve required KPIs that enable the business plan.
  • Develop and maintain processes and standardized work for the function to effectively utilize the portfolio in the development of the routings and test instructions.
  • Develop and implement robust quality gates to prevent escapes and collaborate with other groups throughout SAO to problem solve and continuously improve the overall quality system of the business through Lean methodology and mitigation of systemic failure modes.
  • Using Lean methodology for daily management, maintain a culture of accountability, problem solve and allocate resources appropriately to meet demand and expected targets.
  • Build and maintain the Certification team through active recruitment, succession planning, employee development plans, identification of expertise gaps, and employee education and training.
  • Work cross functionally with the Production Laboratories, Customer Solutions, Shipping, Logistics, Technical, and other Quality/Product Compliance personnel to effectively problem solve issues, creating countermeasures to restore safe, quality flow and arrive at robust and systemic corrective actions.
  • Build and apply general knowledge of customers, products, and specifications that can be applied to problem solving and improvement to standardized work.
    Performs all other duties and special projects as assigned.
Primary Responsibilities:
  • Four-year college degree in a technical field preferred or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 5+ years of relevant quality experience required.
  • Supervisory experience preferred.
  • Knowledge of continuous improvement and root cause problem solving methodologies.

  • Allocate resources to meet financial and operational targets.
  • Contribute to forecasting and resource planning.
  • Practical understanding of manufacturing principles, standards, methods, and practices.
  • Proficient in disciplined problem-solving methods.
  • Knowledge of positive employee relations practices.
