The Sr. Sales Manager, Public Health (Chembio product line) owns direct and distributor-led sales in the Western U.S. and plays a key role in expanding market share and revenue. While responsible for the West, this role works cross-territory with peers and the Sales Director, Public Health to execute national initiatives and deliver the assigned national revenue budget, ensuring regional efforts align with overall company goals.
Duties & Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Sales Leadership & Team Management:
- Drive direct sales efforts in the Western U.S., focusing on public health departments, state health labs, hospitals, reference laboratories, and correctional facilities.
- Develop and execute territory sales strategies to maximize market penetration and revenue growth for the Chembio product line.
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities, expanding relationships with key decision-makers in the public health sector.
- Work closely with the Sales Director, Public Health to align on overall sales strategy and ensure regional sales goals contribute to national objectives.
- Collaborate across regions to share best practices, support strategic accounts regardless of territory when needed, and execute national campaigns to achieve the overall budget.
- Partner with the Sales Director, Public Health on national planning, pipeline reviews, and forecasting to ensure the West's performance contributes to (and, when required, backstops) national targets.
- Provide accurate, timely forecasts and input to the national operating cadence.
Customer & Key Account Management
- Build and maintain strong relationships with public health officials, infectious disease specialists, state health agencies, and healthcare providers.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for key accounts in the Western U.S., ensuring high levels of engagement, product education, and customer satisfaction.
- Represent Chembio at industry conferences, trade shows, and networking events to enhance brand visibility and expand market presence.
Market Strategy & Competitive Insights:
- Analyze market trends, competitive activity, and customer needs to refine sales approaches and identify growth opportunities.
- Stay up to date on government funding sources, reimbursement processes, and public health initiatives impacting diagnostic sales.
Qualifications Required for Sales Director:
- 3+ years of sales experience in the IVD, medical diagnostics, or healthcare industry, with a strong focus on public health, government, or laboratory markets.
- Proven success in selling diagnostic solutions to public health departments, hospitals, and reference laboratories.
- Experience working with distribution partners (Henry Schein, McKesson, Medline) to drive sales and market expansion.
- Strong knowledge of government funding, payer systems, and laboratory workflows related to the Chembio product line.
- Ability to execute sales strategies independently while collaborating with the broader sales team.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills.
- Willingness to travel extensively within the Western U.S. to support sales efforts and customer engagement.
