Responsibilities

Sabre Systems is currently recruiting for a Senior Engineer (Systems) for support to the Strike Planning and Execution Systems Program Office (PMA-281) at Patuxent River Naval Air Station in Lexington Park, MD. The candidate will provide engineering support for the Conventional Prompt Strike (CPS) program with primarily focus on the Submarine Launched Cruise Missile - Nuclear (SLCM-N) effort. PMA-281 is responsible for the acquisition and life cycle management of a range of mission planning, control systems and execution tools that are developed and integrated in partnership with other NAVAIR program offices, other Services, and foreign nation customers/partners. This position is primarily 3 days a week for on-site work at the TS/SCI classification level with 2 days a week with hybrid non-classified telework.

The selected candidate will be responsible for but not limited to:

  • Perform as the technical engineering coordinator across all the stakeholders with tasking, scheduling, and collaborating with the Submarine Launched Cruise Missile - Nuclear (SLCM-N) effort.
  • Review of technical requirements documents and participation in Systems Engineering Technical Readiness reviews.
  • Work at the TS/SCI classification level on SIPRNet and JWICS.
  • Performs tasks with little or no guidance or leads the execution of complex tasks.
  • Has demonstrated knowledge in area of engineering expertise.
  • Applies engineering principles to investigate, analyze, plan and design, develop, implement, test, or evaluate military weapons systems.
  • Reviews and prepares engineering and technical analyses, reports, change proposals, and other technical documentation.
  • Applies systems engineering methods and tools in the development of advanced complex systems and performs functions such as system integration, configuration management, quality assurance testing, or acquisition and resource management.
  • Analyzes, designs, develops, implements, tests, or evaluates software, components, or systems related to engineering or functional requirements of military weapons systems, associated support systems.
  • Performs programmatic or technical leadership roles in an organization identifying, formulating, designing, and/or testing practical solutions to engineering problems.
  • Guides the engineering development of modern complex systems.

Qualifications

  • Must have a have a master's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university or a bachelor's degree in a technical or scientific field from an accredited college or university and an additional four (4) years of recent and relevant experience.
  • Must have minimum of minimum of ten (10) years recent and relevant experience in an engineering position, three (3) years of which must be directly related to DoD systems.
  • Demonstrated experience in an area of engineering expertise is required.
  • Must have an active DoD TOP SECRET/SCI Clearance.
  • Classified work will be performed at NAS Pax River and the Washington Navy Yard.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a background investigation.
  • Must be a US Citizen

Compensation:

At Sabre Systems, LLC, compensation is based on factors such as location, qualifications, experience, and contract-specific requirements. The general salary range for this position is $148,330.00-164,420.00; however, final compensation will be determined by individual qualifications and applicable contract terms.
