Job Description:

Dynamo Technologies LLC is seeking a highly skilled Telecommunications Engineer with expertise in lifecycle system engineering development and delivery of U.S. Coast Guard shipboard Electro-Optical (EO) systems. This role will support the design, integration, testing, and sustainment of advanced EO capabilities including Flight Deck Video Systems (FDVS), Maritime Forward Looking Infrared (MARFLIR), Closed Circuit Television (CCTV), Cutter Video Recording Systems (CVRS), and related integration with electronic navigation sensors and systems. The Telecommunications Engineer will coordinate and perform technical and project documentation, provide engineering presentations, and support system requirements development, hardware and software implementation, system integration, installation, analysis, and peripheral interfaces. Responsibilities include generating and executing test and evaluation plans, resolving complex technical issues, and providing technical oversight during installation and production events. This position directly supports the U.S. Coast Guard's life-cycle requirements for C5I systems aboard cutters, boats, and engineering support laboratories.

Position will mostly be remote. Need to live near the Portsmouth, VA area.

Duties/ Responsibilities:



  • Responsible for lifecycle system engineering development and delivery of USCG shipboard Electro-Optical (EO) systems, including:
  • Flight Deck Video Systems (FDVS)
  • Maritime Forward Looking Infrared (MARFLIR)
  • Closed Circuit Television (CCTV)
  • Cutter Video Recording Systems (CVRS)
  • Integration with electronic navigation sensors and systems
  • Coordinate, support, or perform project and technical writing activities related to all aspects of engineering projects
  • Support engineering presentations and the development of systems requirements, design, documentation, software implementation, hardware layout, integration, installation, analysis, and peripheral interfaces
  • Generate test and evaluation plans and execute test activities when required
  • Exercise independent judgment in solving complex and/or unusual technical issues
  • Provide engineering services in support of the U.S. Coast Guard's life-cycle requirements for C5I systems aboard cutters, boats, and in engineering support laboratories


Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite of applications to draft reports, emails, presentations, create system architecture and integration diagrams, and possess a thorough knowledge of performing independent research.
  • Deliver engineering related presentations within a Configuration Control Board (CCB) setting.
  • Develop and deliver Engineering Change (EC) documentation and activities (i.e. integration testing) within an established System Engineering or Configuration Management process.
  • Conduct hardware and software light off, testing, evaluation, and resolve system issues as required.
  • Provide technical guidance and oversight to Installation Activities (IA) during system testing, prototype, and/or production events.
  • Provide phone and email support for the purpose of technical corrective maintenance to resolve system casualties.
  • Strong knowledge of shipboard electronic system installation and integration process and applicable Government standards.
  • Strong knowledge of troubleshooting and corrective maintenance involving complex electronic navigation systems.

  • U.S. citizenship required


Education and Experience:



  • Bachelor's Degree in the field of Systems, Electrical, Telecommunications or related engineering programs, or completion of USCG or DOD Technical Schools and six (6) years relative experience.
  • Substitute for education: Comprehensive knowledge of DOD military specifications and standards. Demonstrated Expert: Ten (10) years of concurrent, relevant experience in engineering, design, maintenance and installation of Command, Control and Communication Systems.
