Position Description:
Summary
Under direct supervision, provide basic support to laboratory functions including maintenance, operation and inventory of equipment and supplies. Support research investigators as needed.
Primary Responsibilities
- Provide clean and sterilized glassware for use in research lab.
- Operate and maintain a variety of basic lab equipment.
- Make and supply media, buffers, and water to research areas as needed.
- Assist in organizing and setup lab supplies and equipment for individual research investigators.
- Assist with inventory and record of supplies.
- Conduct supervised laboratory experiments with recombinant DNA in a BLS1 environment.
- Participate in meetings with principal investigator and research staff and evaluate/interpret the validity of data as needed.
- Other duties as assigned.
Preferred Schedule:
M-F, 8AM-5PM
Position Requirements:
Qualifications
Appropriate experience may be substituted on equivalent basis.
Minimum Required Education: Less than high school
Minimum Required Experience: No experience required
Preferred Education: BS in a STEM related discipline: chemistry, biology, biochemistry, microbiology, immunology, physiology
Preferred Experience: Background in a cell biology, biochemistry, and/or molecular biology research environment
