Lead Software Systems Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Lead Software Systems Engineer to join us in support of an upcoming DLA opportunity.
The Lead Software Systems Engineer provides systems engineering and technical leadership for the design, integration, sustainment, and modernization of the Mapping Enterprise Business System (MEBS). This role ensures architectural compliance, oversees software development and maintenance, and supports system upgrades aligned with DLA's enterprise IT standards and Oracle/Java-based architecture.
Responsibilities
Serve as the technical lead for all MEBS software engineering and sustainment activities.
Oversee design, development, integration, testing, and deployment of MEBS enhancements and interfaces.
Ensure system architecture compliance with DLA J62 standards and cloud hosting environments.
Lead root-cause analysis and provide technical solutions for complex system issues.
Review and approve design and code deliverables for compliance, quality, and security.
Support migration efforts, including integration with Warehouse Management System (WMS) and other DLA enterprise applications.
Develop and maintain documentation, including requirements traceability, design specifications, and test plans.
Collaborate with cybersecurity personnel to maintain RMF compliance and accreditation.
Mentor development staff and provide technical oversight to software engineers and developers.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical field (Master's preferred).
10+ years of software/systems engineering experience, including at least 5 years leading enterprise-level IT projects.
Strong background in Oracle, Java, and cloud-hosted systems (preferably AWS or GovCloud environments).
Experience with systems integration, database design, and configuration management.
Familiarity with DoD cybersecurity policies and RMF processes.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail.
