QA/QI Coordinator

Clackamas County, Oregon onsite

$120,000 to $130,000 DOE

The QA/QI Coordinator oversees clinical and regulatory compliance for Clackamas County, Oregon. This role requires a comprehensive understanding of clinical and operational key performance indicators (KPIs), as well as quality assurance and improvement strategies. The QA/QI Coordinator enhances clinical and operational outcomes through employee engagement, analysis of data, education, and process improvement.

Responsibilities :

  • Leads the QA/QI program for AMR Clackamas County.
  • Evaluates every facet of emergency medical services, focusing on both clinical and operational performance in relation to patient care and documentation. This includes assessing compliance with medical protocols, the quality of patient care and treatment, accuracy in patient care documentation, and adherence to standards for patient confidentiality.
  • Works with the Clackamas County Medical Program Director and the Clackamas County EMS QI group to oversee clinical performance and compliance.
  • Conducts and coordinates clinical investigations and interviews.
  • Works with the Clackamas County Medical Program Director and the Clackamas County EMS QI group to oversee clinical protocols for field providers.
  • Reports deviations in the standard of care and medical protocols, patient care documentation standards, and radio protocols and recommends remedial training.
  • Conducts and coordinates documentation review with AMR's pre-billing department.
  • Coordinates and works with the training department on a regular basis.
  • Coordinates with external agencies, including PSAPs, AMR communications, and medical facilities and personnel, as necessary to achieve ongoing process improvement objectives. This will be facilitated through consistent participation in stakeholder meetings. While most meetings will be conducted virtually, occasional travel will be necessary for in-person attendance.
  • The ability to communicate and coordinate with AMR's data analysts.

Requirements and Education:

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • BLS, ACLS, PALS, PHTLS certifications
  • Current State of Oregon Paramedic license
  • The following is preferred: Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) or HarvardX Improvement Science certification.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in the direct delivery of pre-hospital advanced life support as a Paramedic.
  • Experience in performing, evaluating, instructing, and coaching all aspects of the delivery of pre-hospital care preferred.
