Position Summary:

The Sr. Defense Financial Analyst supports SIG Sauer's Defense business by implementing program accounting for new contract awards and providing financial oversight across U.S. Defense, Global Defense, and Law Enforcement units. This role is responsible for program-level financial analysis, inventory review, account reconciliations, forecasting, and reporting. It requires a strong understanding of government contracting standards including FAR, DFARS, CAS and involves hands-on work with cost accounting, financial planning, and the development of business cases and pro forma financials to support strategic decision-making.

Job Duties and Responsibilities:



  • Lead financial oversight for multiple government and international programs, including program planning, monthly forecasting, and both internal and external reporting
  • Own the monthly update of the Estimate at Completion (EAC)process for assigned programs, including preparation of the accounting entries r to recognize cost and revenue in accordance with program milestones
  • Effectively justify and communicate the assumptions made when completing program EAC's and speak to how risks and opportunities could impact cost and schedule.
  • Conduct in-depth P&L and balance Sheet Analysis/ by program, identifying trends and variances to inform strategic decisions.
  • Extract, reconcilem and validate accounting data to ensure accuracy and compliance across program financials.
  • Prepare and post monthly journal entries to recognize and reclassify revenue & cost of goods sold (COGS) in alignment with program performance.
  • Provide financial analysis and decision support to SIG SAUER defense Strategic Business Units (SBU's) including Law Enforcement, Global Defense Systems and US Government Defense.
  • Respond to ad hoc financial queries and deliver insights that support high-impact business decisions across the defense portfolio.


Education/Experience & Skills:



  • A Bachelors or Master's degree in Finance and / or Accounting strongly preferred or combination of education and experience.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience working within manufacturing organizations that serve the U.S. Government, with a strong background in program costing and preparing CAS-compliant bids for U.S. Military programs. Experience should reflect meaningful contributions to government contracting processes and compliance-driven proposal development.
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft office including advanced skills in Excel working with large sets of data.
  • Prior experience Hyperion or similar planning tool (OneStream, TM1, Profix) required.
  • Experience w/ with ERP Systems (Oracle or similar), GLWAND a plus.
  • Prior experience within Automotive, Defense & Aerospace industry a plus.
  • Must have excellent analytical skills; sound understanding of accounting principles.
  • Strong communication, presentation, leadership, interpersonal, planning and problem-solving skills.
  • Well organized, detail oriented, and self-directed with the ability to relate to all levels of an organization.


Working Conditions:



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working at a computer using a keyboard and mouse performing repetitive tasks.
  • Ability to open file cabinets, reach with hands and arms, bend, and twist, lift and move files.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Must wear required Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) where required.
  • Must comply with all work exposure EH&S training requirements and adhere to SIG SAUER Inc. Security Mandates.
