Job Description: The Brand Manager is responsible for developing and implementing strategies to maximize the profitability of the product line within Billerud's corporate and marketing framework. This includes coordinating with sales and other departments to execute the Sales and Marketing Plan's initiatives. This position provides marketing direction and insight to increase sales awareness and drive growth with targeted customers and segments, assists in developing pricing strategies in collaboration with Sales, Pricing, and Commercial Finance, and works with Market Research to create customer-facing presentations that establish Billerud's market knowledge. Additionally, this position directs Marketing Communications efforts for the product line, working closely with the Manager of Marketing Communications and eCommerce.
Qualifications
Key Accountabilities:
- Grow margin within the given product line through top line and bottom-line growth.
- Provide marketing direction and segment-specific insight to drive sales awareness and support strategic marketing initiatives.
- Collaborate with sales and functional departments to build and implement strategies for future growth, profitability, and advancement of relationships with key channel partners and end-users.
- Develop and execute segment-specific solutions, segmentation strategies, and enhancements across the organization.
- Prepare and present market information and data to support sales efforts and identify sub-segments with the best growth opportunities.
- Assist in developing pricing strategies for the product line in collaboration with Sales, Pricing, and Commercial Finance.
- Work with Market Research to develop and deliver presentations that establish Billerud's market expertise with customers.
- Direct Marketing Communications efforts for the product line, partnering closely with the Manager of Marketing Communications and eCommerce.
- Assist in the development of capital project justifications that are strategic in nature.
Personal qualities
Required Experience, Education and Skills:
- Four-year college degree or 7+ years of relevant industry experience or equivalent.
- Demonstrated understanding of marketing concepts, including segmentation, targeting, positioning, and value proposition development.
- Strong presentation skills, with the ability to create and deliver compelling presentations to internal stakeholders, customers, and channel partners.
- Proven experience dealing directly with customers on problem resolution, demonstrating effective communication and relationship-building.
- Demonstrated ability to construct detailed proposals for customers, internal projects, or strategic initiatives.
- Knowledge of the organization, including its structure, processes, and key stakeholders, or the ability to quickly learn and navigate the company.
- Collaborative focus and ability to work cross-functionally with sales, marketing, pricing, finance, and market research teams.
- Business acumen and strategic mindset to drive profitability and growth within the product line.
- Problem-solving and solution development skills, with a track record of driving enhancements and improvements across the organization.
- Innovation and creativity in developing segment-specific solutions and marketing strategies.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, to present market data and establish Billerud's market expertise.
- Ability to manage complexity, optimize work
