General Summary: We are seeking a seasoned, strategic, and politically astute Executive Vice President to lead operations and drive alignment within a high profile joint venture between Westlake and Lotte. The EVP of LACC is a senior executive responsible for the overall strategic leadership, operational management, and financial performance of LACC. This role ensures that the site operates safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable regulations, while delivering on production, quality, and business objectives. This is a highly visible and complex leadership role requiring exceptional business judgement, relationship management, and operational execution in a dynamic and ever evolving joint partnership environment. Key Responsibilities:
- Provide strategic direction and leadership for all LACC operations, including manufacturing, maintenance, engineering, laboratory, finance and procurement, ensuring a high-performing and accountable leadership team.
- Act as a neutral and trusted intermediary between joint venture partners, facilitating collaboration, transparency, collaboration, and alignment on key decisions.
- Navigate any differing partner priorities with diplomacy, tact, and integrity while advancing the joint venture's objectives.
- Develop and execute business plans and budgets aligned with LACC JV goals.
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety regulations and promote a culture of safety throughout the organization.
- Drive continuous improvement and operational excellence initiatives to drive innovation, maximize efficiency and profitability, and add customer value.
- Oversee capital projects, resource allocation, and investment planning for site development and expansion.
- Represent LACC in interactions with regulatory agencies, community stakeholders, and corporate leadership.
- Lead, mentor, and develop site leadership teams; ensure alignment with Westlake's values and standards.
- Collaborate with JV partners, other business units and functional leaders to achieve corporate objectives.
- Manage risk, compliance and reputational considerations across all business activities.
Reporting Structure: The EVP of LACC typically reports to the Senior Operations Director, Olefins and Polyethylene and is a member of the Olefins/PE operations leadership team Qualifications:
- 15+ years of progressive leadership experience in chemical manufacturing or a related industry.
- Proven executive leadership experience in a complex, matrixed, or joint venture environment; experience working with multiple stakeholders or owners is highly preferred.
- Bachelor's degree in engineering. Advanced degree in Business Administration, International Relations, or related field preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to problem-solve and operate effectively in a sensitive or high-stakes environment.
- Strong financial, strategic, and operational acumen.
- High emotional intelligence and cultural sensitivity.
- Demonstrated expertise in plant operations, safety management, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing large budgets and capital projects.
- Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills.
- Contract administration and negotiation experience preferred.
- Strong ethical standards with a commitment to integrity.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk and climb; use hands to touch, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; and talk or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, and infrequently lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. The employee must frequently make minor decisions with limited information, general decisions in the absence of specific directions, and perform activities requiring sustained concentration. WORK ENVIRONMENT The noise level in the work environment is sometimes moderate when working in an office, however, some of the work may be required in the operating units which mandates usage of required PPE including safety glasses, hearing protection, etc. During active remediation additional requirements may include fit testing for respiratory equipment, chemical suits, face shields, etc. May also result in exposure to outside elements and may require usage of stairs.
