As a Banquet Porter at The Pfister Hotel, you will be responsible for the preparation and servicing of all permanent and portable bars within the Banquet Beverage department. You will ensure supplies, garnishes, and equipment are stocked and maintained, while also assisting bartenders in delivering superior guest satisfaction at every event.

Built in 1893, The Pfister Hotel in Milwaukee has been a hotel icon for nearly 130 years. As one of the best hotels in Milwaukee and the Midwest, we continue to celebrate a grand tradition of gracious service and impeccable style. The Pfister Hotel has received AAA Four Diamond hotel status for 46 consecutive years. What you will be doing:

* Retrieve orders from storeroom, check against requisitions for accuracy, and store items appropriately with Beverage Supervisor oversight.

* Cut, slice, and prepare fruit garnishes and juices in sufficient amounts, storing perishables correctly for later use.

* Assist bartenders by maintaining adequate supplies such as stir sticks, napkins, and matches for both banquet and portable bars.

* Replenish bar items as needed throughout service periods.

* Maintain cleanliness of bar areas, beer lockers, wine refrigeration, and storage areas to comply with health standards.

* Transport ice to service areas and replenish containers regularly.

* Collect and box empty liquor bottles for return and requisition tracking.

* Transport portable bars and tap units; perform routine maintenance to ensure working order.

* Assist with guest spills and other general cleaning tasks as needed.

* Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned by management.

Position Requirements:

* Knowledge of alcoholic beverage preparation and service preferred.

* Basic mathematical skills to verify delivery amounts, portion sizes, and assist with inventory.

* Manual dexterity to safely use a knife, scoop ice, tap kegs, handle bottles, and stock items overhead.

* Basic English skills to understand instructions and communicate effectively.

* Ability to comprehend product labeling and follow safe use procedures.

* Physical ability to grasp, bend, lift, carry, or push items weighing up to 500 lbs. with equipment.

* Ability to work in confined spaces and varied temperature ranges.

* No prior experience required; prior bar or hospitality experience preferred.

* Must be able to obtain required government-issued licenses or certificates (Bartender certificate and TIPS certification required).

* Must adhere to Local 122 Collective Bargaining Agreement regulations, with the option for union membership after 90 days.

Pay Rate: $13.47 per hour
