Supervisory Relationships
Salary Range $70,000-$80,000. This is the expected salary range for this position. The actual salary offered will depend on a candidate's experience and education, and departmental budget.
Job Summary
The School of Business at Elmhurst University invites applications for a professional-track position at the Assistant Professor level. Applicants must possess a master's in finance or related disciplines at the time of appointment. The successful candidate will teach introductory and upper-level undergraduate and graduate finance courses. The teaching load is six courses per year, and the position would commence in the 2026-2027 academic year.
Essential Functions

  • Teaches undergraduate- and graduate-level finance courses.
  • Is flexible relative to the teaching schedule.
  • Attends regular School of Business and University meetings.
  • Leverages Blackboard learning management system and publishers' online learning materials.
  • Participates in the School of Business/University's shared governance.

  • Supports mission, vision and values of Elmhurst University.
  • Demonstrates a strong commitment to continuous improvement.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Minimum Qualifications
  • MS in finance or MBA with specialization in finance.
Preferred Qualifications
  • PhD in finance or economics or significant industry experience.
Working Conditions/Physical Requirements
The essential functions of this position are primarily performed in an indoor setting with limited exposure to outdoor weather conditions. Work is often sedentary in nature and requires remaining in a stationary position for extended periods. Required abilities include speaking and hearing for in-person and virtual communication, using close and distance vision when reading documents or viewing screens, and performing tasks with repetitive fine motor skills. Work may require occasional lifting, bending, carrying, or otherwise moving objects weighing up to 15 pounds. Qualified applicants who can perform the essential functions of this position with or without reasonable accommodations will be considered.
