UCSF School of Medicine and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals

Division of Pediatric Pain, Palliative and Integrative Medicine

Adjunct, Clinical X, Health Sciences Clinical, In Residence Series

The Division of Pediatric Pain, Palliative and Integrative Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals is recruiting faculty to join our growing team at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, or Full Professor rank in the Adjunct, Health Sciences (HS) Clinical, Clinical X, or In Residence series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.

Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.

Clinical duties may involve providing inpatient consultations in pain, palliative care, or integrative medicine and/or overseeing outpatient clinics dedicated to these services. Responsibilities may also include participation in weekend and night call coverage.

Minimum Qualifications



  • MD, DO, or equivalent medical degree, with eligibility for medical licensure in California
  • Demonstrated interest in pediatric pain, palliative care, and/or integrative medicine
  • Commitment to excellence in medical education


Preferred Qualifications



  • Board certification or board eligibility in Pediatrics
  • Board certification or board eligibility in Pain Medicine, Palliative Care, or Integrative Medicine
  • Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively across pediatric disciplines
  • Experience teaching and supervising learners, including medical students, residents, and fellows
  • Evidence of scholarly activity, program development, or quality improvement initiatives


For positions that are 51% effort or more:

The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $114,100-$344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.

For positions that are 50% effort or less:

See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $81,500-$246,000.
