Job Description

Position Summary:

The HR Assistant supports the Human Resources department by serving as the first point of contact for employee inquiries and ensuring timely, accurate assistance. This role is responsible for timekeeping verification, onboarding and offboarding support, employee engagement coordination, access control, HRIS data entry and training, performance tracking, and administrative tasks that contribute to a positive and secure workplace culture.

Key Responsibilities:

Employee Support & Communication

  • Respond to employee questions regarding HR policies, procedures, and systems.
  • Provide prompt, courteous, and accurate assistance to employees.

Timekeeping & Attendance

  • Verify employee timecards for accuracy and completeness.
  • Review and validate manual adjustment forms for all timecard edits.
  • Manage absenteeism point tracking and reporting; notify supervisors of trends or thresholds.
  • Track and document disciplinary actions related to attendance and policy violations.

Onboarding, Offboarding & Leave Management

  • Track completion of onboarding forms and ensure timely submission.
  • Manage onboarding and offboarding processes for employees, including those on leave of absence.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential personnel files.
  • Assign and manage employee lockers and maintain locker records.

Badge & Access Control

  • Issue and manage employee ID badges, including replacements and deactivations.
  • Administer the badge access control system, including user setup, access level changes, and deactivation.
  • Conduct monthly audits of badge access, verify access levels, and complete required sign-offs to ensure compliance and security.

HRIS & File Management

  • Assist with data entry and updates in Workday, including employee records, job changes, and organizational updates.
  • Maintain digital and physical HR files in accordance with company policies and compliance standards.
  • Provide basic Workday training and support to employees and managers, including navigation, self-service tasks, and troubleshooting common issues.
  • Run weekly audit reports in Workday to identify incomplete items (e.g., onboarding tasks, citizenship documentation).
  • Collaborate with appropriate stakeholders to resolve outstanding items in a timely manner.

Performance & Evaluation Tracking

  • Track completion of 90-day evaluations for new hires.
  • Ensure completion of observational rater assessments for all hourly employees.
  • Support tracking performance review completion and employee acknowledgement across the organization.

Employee Engagement & Culture

  • Lead the "Fun Committee" to plan and execute employee engagement activities.
  • Organize and manage employee events, including logistics, communications, and feedback collection.
  • Maintain and update internal event postings and announcements.

Budget & Administrative Support

  • Prepare budgets for employee events and engagement activities for approval.
  • Track employee training participation and maintain training records.
  • Provide general administrative support to the HR team.

Other Duties

  • Participate in special projects assigned by HR leadership.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate or bachelor's degree in human resources or related field preferred.
  • 1-2 years of experience in an HR support or administrative role.
  • Strong interpersonal and customer service skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS/timekeeping systems (e.g., ADP, Workday).
  • Experience with badge access control systems (e.g., Verkada) preferred.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.

For informational purposes only, the range of pay for this role is $23.25 to $31.00 US Dollar (USD) Hourly based on a variety of factors. For informational purposes only, this role is eligible to participate in the Company's Quarterly Cash Bonus Plan, paid out at the quarterly bonus factor of 1X the Company's bonus multiple, based on the Company's performance in the applicable quarter . Employees will receive 80 hours paid time off every year. Employees will also receive 10 paid holidays. Employees (and their families) are eligible to participate in the company's medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance. Employees are eligible to enroll in the Company's 401(k) plan.

This position requires use of information or access to production processes subject to national security controls under U.S. export control laws and regulations (including, but not limited to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the Export Administration Regulations (EAR)). To be qualified to work in this facility, a successful applicant must be a U.S. Person, as defined in those regulations, and able to supply evidence of that qualification prior to starting work or be authorized to receive controlled information under a specific license or permission from the relevant government agency.
