KARL STORZ Endoscopy-America, Inc., a U.S. affiliate of KARL STORZ GmbH & Co. KG, is a global leader in reusable endoscopy technology. Headquartered in El Segundo, California, we specialize in surgical instruments, imaging systems, and OR1 integration technologies.

This position requires in office two or three days per week in office at either Charlton, MA or Mississauga, Ontario location. Remote work is a possibility with approval.

Job Opportunity: Senior Operations FP&A Business Partner I. Position Overview

In this crucial role, you'll be at the heart of aligning our operational and financial strategies. As an Operations FP&A Business Partner, your job is to collaborate proactively with leaders in manufacturing, supply chain, and finance. Your primary responsibilities will include creating and maintaining operational plans, ensuring transparency in performance, and providing data-driven insights that steer strategic and tactical decisions. With strong analytical skills and a keen understanding of operational drivers, you will help the organization reach its efficiency, profitability, and growth goals.

Core Responsibilities
  • Establish Performance Metrics: Design and monitor key operational KPIs. Drive accountability and effectively communicate results to leaders across operations, manufacturing, and supply chain.

  • Budgeting & Forecasting: Lead and support the development of annual operating and capital budgets while managing forecasts to ensure they align accurately with organizational goals.

  • Data-Driven Analysis: Prepare compelling operational analyses that highlight risks and opportunities, supporting informed business decisions and reviews.

  • Stakeholder Communication: Simplify complex data into clear, actionable insights for operational and finance teams.

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement enhancements in reporting, tools, and processes to boost operational efficiency.

  • Scenario Planning: Provide analytical guidance and model potential scenarios to aid operational decision-making.

  • Strategic Support: Contribute to key initiatives by crafting quantitative analyses and business cases.

  • Governance & Business Case Development: Support decision-making by building robust cases for investment in new equipment or improvements.

II. Essential Skills and Experience

Required:

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Engineering, or a related field.

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years in financial analysis, operations finance, or FP&A, preferably in manufacturing or supply chain contexts.

  • Knowledge: Strong understanding of cost accounting, operational metrics, and financial planning cycles (budget, forecast, variance analysis).

  • Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and data visualization tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau) is highly favored.

  • Analytical Skills: Ability to synthesize large datasets into clear narratives that drive business decisions.

  • Communication: Exceptional interpersonal skills to influence and collaborate with diverse teams.

  • Adaptability: Capability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment, maintaining a high attention to detail and a commitment to continuous improvement.

  • SAP Knowledge: Understanding of SAP data structures for effective analysis and reporting.

  • Dashboard Creation: Experience building interactive Tableau dashboards tracking KPIs, revenue streams, COGS, OPEX, and CAPEX.

  • Financial Modeling: Ability to develop and maintain financial models for scenario planning and operational forecasting.

Preferred:

  • MBA
  • Experience with manufacturing finance, including standard costing and variance analysis.
  • Proficiency in data visualization tools for operational reporting.
  • Proven track record in capital investment analysis and ROI modeling.
  • Experience leading cross-functional finance and operations initiatives.
  • Strong storytelling skills, effectively turning data into insights for senior leadership.
  • Comfort in a dynamic, fast-paced environment with competing priorities.

  • Oversee and report on key operational drivers influencing profitability, efficiency, and growth.

  • Maintain performance dashboards and KPI reports for enhanced operational visibility.

  • Participate in or lead initiatives aimed at process improvements, cost reductions, and operational excellence.

  • Uphold employee and customer confidentiality while adhering to all KARL STORZ US policies and procedures.
