Retirement Financial Analyst, Full-Time


Pay Range - $31.69 to $47.53

About the Role


The Retirement Financial Analyst plays a key role in supporting the financial strength and stability of the Employee's Retirement System (ERS) and OBRA retirement system. Working alongside the Senior Retirement Financial Analyst, you will help ensure accurate financial management, implement pension investment changes, and contribute to the long-term financial security of our retirees. This is an exciting opportunity to gain specialized experience in public sector retirement systems while working in a collaborative, mission-driven environment.


What You'll Do


In this role, you will:



  • Partner with the Senior Retirement Financial Analyst on audits, reviews, and financial investigations, while responding to inquiries from retirees, regulators, and financial partners.
  • Support investment portfolio and annuity system reconciliations, ensuring accuracy in the General Ledger and monthly pension disbursements.
  • Prepare financial reports-including cash flow, budget-to-actual, and investment fees-for ERS leadership and the Pension Board.
  • Step in as back-up for the Senior Retirement Financial Analyst, including attending Pension Board meetings and providing subject matter expertise when needed.
  • Create and validate reports for ERS, OBRA, county departments, auditors, and outside agencies.
  • Assist in developing and improving fiscal and accounting systems to strengthen operational efficiency.

What We're Looking For



  • Current residency in Wisconsin and a valid Wisconsin Driver's License (required throughout employment).


  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
  • At least one (1) year of professional experience in accounting, Tax Law, and IRS guidelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to occasionally lift/carry and push/pull up to 20 lbs.
