OverviewJoin Microsoft's US Public Sector Industries DIB Team-where mission meets innovation. The Defense Industrial Base (DIB) Operating Unit (OU) is a newly formed team with a bold mission: toconsolidate, simplify, and accelerate Microsoft's presence across the DIB landscape. This expansive network includes over 100,000 organizations specializing in manufacturing, aviation, cybersecurity, and more-all united in their support of all Federal Agencies, including the U.S. Department of Defense and other mission-based intelligence and civilian organizations. Our team is dedicated to empowering these commercial contractors throughout their digital transformation journey-from envisioning new possibilities to delivering secure, scalable solutions that drive mission outcomes, elevate customer experience, and fuel Microsoft's growth. The DIB OU will directly manage and accelerate strategic and major DIB accounts across MCAPS Americas, while also enabling growth across other OUs and SME&C.We'rebuilding new relationships, transforming legacy operations, and helping our customers modernize with confidence. We are seeking a Cloud Solution Architect - Data Security with a passion for solving complex security challenges in Defense and national security environments. In this role, you'll help customers modernize their data protection strategies, strengthen compliance posture, and secure sensitive information across hybrid and cloud infrastructures. As a Data Security CSA in the DIB Operating Unit, you'll be at the forefront of Microsoft's mission to safeguard critical infrastructure and support national defense. You'll work in some of the most secure, high-consequence environments in the world, helping customers adopt Microsoft Purview, Microsoft Information Protection (MIP), Insider Risk Management, and other E5 security capabilities. Your work will enable secure collaboration, data governance, and protection of classified and sensitive data-while driving digital transformation and mission readiness. This role is part of a specialized team supporting the Defense Industrial Base (DIB)-a $400B+ sector encompassing Tier 1-3 defense partners and mission-critical suppliers. As a Data Security Cloud Solution Architect, you will deliver deep technical expertise across Microsoft's data protection and compliance portfolio, including Microsoft Purview, Information Protection, Insider Risk Management, and DLP. You'll be responsible for driving usage excellence and accelerating adoption of Microsoft's security solutions in classified, sovereign, and highly regulated environments. Your work will help customers safeguard sensitive data, meet stringent compliance requirements, and enable secure collaboration across hybrid and cloud infrastructures. ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities: Lead the adoption and optimization of Microsoft Purview solutions-including Data Loss Prevention (DLP), Information Protection (MIP), and Insider Risk Management (IRM)-to help customers achieve their compliance and data security objectives. Drive the deployment and usage of Microsoft E5 Security solutions, focusing on data classification, labeling, encryption, insider risk management, and data loss prevention, especially within Microsoft 365 environments. Collaborate cross-functionally with Customer Success Account Managers (CSAMs), Security Specialists, Compliance teams, and external partners to ensure successful solution delivery and customer satisfaction. Utilize AI-driven security tools and best practices to accelerate secure solution adoption, support incident response, and provide actionable feedback to enhance product capabilities and customer outcomes. Support classified and sovereign environments by tailoring data protection strategies to meet FedRAMP, ITAR, and DoD Zero Trust requirements, ensuring secure collaboration and compliance across disconnected and hybrid infrastructures. Drive customer success planning and blueprint alignment, contributing to strategic account growth and ensuring readiness for mission-critical workloads. Participate in Well-Architected Framework (WAF) assessments, including WARA and WASA, to evaluate and improve customer security posture across data workloads. Act as a trusted advisor in high-consequence environments, helping defense partners modernize legacy operations and adopt secure, scalable data protection solutions.
