The compensation offered to the candidate selected for the position will depend on several factors, including the candidate's educational background, skills and professional experience. Job Overview: The Histology Technologist performs all duties related to the preparation of surgical and autopsy specimens to be examined by a Pathologist. Performs special stains to aid in identification of the diagnosis or disease state. Assist pathologist during the gross processing of surgical specimens. Using frozen section technique, prepare slides for the pathologist to view for rapid diagnosis. Qualifications: Required: Has education and experience equivalent to the guidelines mandated by CMS in the Clinical Lab Improvement Act CLIA and NJSDH requirements Certified Histology Technician, ACSP Scheduling Requirements: Full-Time Day Shift Willingness to take call evenings and weekends, as well as work weekends and holidays as required Essenital Functions: Performs all duties related to the preparation of surgical and autopsy specimens to be examined by a Pathologist. Performs special stains and Immunohistochemistry to aid in identification of the diagnosis or disease state. Assist the pathologist during the gross processing of surgical specimens. Using frozen section technique, prepare slides for the pathologist to view for rapid diagnosis. Experience grossing preferred.
