THE POSITION

We are on the lookout for a dynamic and driven Intern to join our Office of Investigations. This internship offers a fantastic chance to gain hands-on experience in civilian fraud investigations, state government operations, and banking. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

As an Intern in the Office of Investigations, you will have the following job responsibilities:

  • Assist Investigators with Finder Registration and conducting investigations.
  • Perform research into Commonwealth programs, criminal and civil court records, and authenticate public documents as directed by Investigators.
  • Evaluate and verify documentary evidence that is submitted or gathered.
  • Perform administrative tasks, including logging and tracking information.
  • Answer phones in a professional manner.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • This internship begins upon the date of hire and runs through May 13, 2026, with the availability to work full-time during winter break and part-time (10-20 hours a week) during the school term.
  • Work hours are flexible but will be between 8:00 AM and 5:00 PM Monday through Friday.
  • Telework: You may have the opportunity to work from home (telework) part-time. You must be available to work up to two days in the office during winter break and one day a week during the school term (Monday through Wednesday). In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the Finance Building in Harrisburg. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Internship Requirements:

  • Current enrollment as an undergraduate student in an accredited college/university in a declared Bachelor's degree program in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Sociology, Legal Studies, or a closely related field and successful completion of at least sixty (60) college credits at the time of the internship with a minimum 2.5 GPA; or
  • Current enrollment as a graduate student in an accredited college/university in a declared master's or doctorate degree program in Criminal Justice, Law Enforcement, Sociology, Legal Studies, or a closely related field and a minimum 2.5 GPA at the time of the internship.
  • Must be a full-time college student (12 credits or more) and able to remain employed through the end of the Spring 2026 semester.
  • Must be 18 years or older.
  • This position is located in Harrisburg, Dauphin County. You must live within commuting distance to Harrisburg City, Dauphin County.

Additional Requirements:

  • You must possess professional skills such as communication skills, teamwork and time management.
  • You must have experience using Microsoft applications such as Word, Excel, and Outlook, web-based utilities or the ability to learn relevant software to perform job duties.

Preferred Qualification (not required):

  • Strong internet research skills including familiarity with social media platforms.
